It's not recommended to just 'let the cats fight'. The cats in this video are not really fighting: they're just picking on each other in a naughty way.
Sometimes, however, a cat fight needs some intervention as one cat intends to hurt and even kill the other one.
I have two cats. The one we brought in later (rescued it from the street, neutered and hospitalized it) has some aggressive tendencies if the other cat is playful with it or looks at it for long. This means that they are separated when there is no one home. When they srart fighting, I get up and intervene by just standing and giving verbal cues. It is getting better, but I still cannot trust leaving them both for more than 1 hr.

It has nothing to do with hate. That’s a human thing placed on cats. They’re territorial. Introduce a new cat you’re going to have territory issues. My cats still have it out and they were raised together. Then they act all lovey with each other. Once cats who were single get used to their companion all will be smooth. In their time not yours. And they’ll occasionally still have arguments then get back to liking each other.

I adopted a one-year-old male cat last July. I did everything by the books to introduce him slowly to my resident female cat Lily. Both cats had a history of being socialized with other felines. It has been 10 months, and the two cats cannot be kept in the same room. My female is so scared and defensive when she sees him that I am afraid that it will get real ugly and someone will get hurt. I may have to rehome him.

letting them fight it out is not a good idea. these people were very lucky it went well. unless you have a bomb proof cat i don't suggest you foster you upset your own cats and they should be your first priority. i had a beautiful boy for 17 years and he was okay welcoming several cats that joined our family over his 17 years he was a bomb proof cat.

Those cats act like the typical siblings like humans. I know we use to pick at each other. Wrestling around all the time. My father taught us Indian leg wrestling and I was the only girl and youngest. How did all that love and kisses turn to wrestling and playing around and getting into this form of fun. Haha.

This is nothing new! Animals And Humans are on the same wave length! It's HARD to have a new brother or sister come into the family! You are used to being ALL ABOUT YOU! So I get that! So hopefully it will work out for the best!

Allowing two cats to fight to make their relationship better is terrible advice - there are so many better ways to get cats acquainted and used to each other.

My kitten is obsessed with my cat, 7 months later and he still won't leave her alone. Now, he can pin her down since he has grown. Any suggestions

Yup. you can't force a friendship, they need time to get to know each other, just like humans. first cat had no say in some weirdo moving in.

-. - Seriously. Jackson Galaxy has a much much better way of introducing new cats to current cats. Wrestling it out may not work all the time.
