It’s because of Charlie and this wonderful lady that I tried to make friends with the chipmunks in my backyard and feed them until my cat kept smothering them by sitting on them. it was so heartbreaking finally he’s an indoor cat but there’s no more chipmunks outside. I hope they come back and re-populate so that I can feed them but there are several stray cats in the area as people seem to use this area to drop them off. Myself have 2 adopted stray cats.

Wow, Charlie is so smart! So cute too! Love this video! Hope you do more Videos of Charlie, and his Buddy. Just goes to show you, every living creature big or small, have the ability to be identified by name! Which of course should be if they have anything to do with people at all!
Just love it how this Video show's that animal's, in General, have understanding, feelings, and have they're own identity.

Freeze, animals walk away if they are shy and feel some danger which is always in their mind, and I say only only few few respond to human.
When in my rented house there is a space with few grass and this peahen comes with her babies and I spread rice, or lentils they don't eat, it goes wasted, I call them, Aavo, Aavo, come come but they are not interested they change their path.

PLEASE keep the world updated about you and Charlie! I've grown up around these little guys and enjoyed watching them but had no idea how smart they are. I didn't think they were dumb but. this Maybe Charlie is a genius savant, and no others are as smart. But I doubt it. It just takes a little love and attention to bring out the smarts and love animals have within.

Love this little chipmunk story! Be careful luring Buddy out into the open area in the yard. Birds of prey (Hawks, Owls, Eagles, etc) could swoop down & in the blink of an eye take this precious away & have him for lunch. Your presence will not deter them. Although it is a normal event in nature, it would break your heart.

Greetings from southern Ontario Canada in spring summer and fall I have 4 chipmunks in my backyard they fight over me as they will take nuts out of the palm of my hand and only 1 let's me rub its back and play with its tail and it knows whenever I'm on the patio with or without peanuts but I always give in

I have a scurry of chipmunks in my yard. They’re precious, smart and destructive. They love to tunnel underneath patios and driveways, and there isn’t much you can do to deter them. They leave random piles of dirt and rocks around but they haven’t destroyed anything that matters. Yet.

My goodness. I may be handling this chipmunk problem all wrong! I caught 20 of them in my yard (only live traps for me. But no worries. They went to our local nature preserve up the road. I HATE doing that, even with mice. Maybe I should just name them and hang out. Who knew

It's one of those stories that are perfect, they just make you feel great. and they are teaching people that we are connected to Nature, not separate. that all aspects of Nature emobdy intelligence, and we can be infinitely grateful.

I feed an old stray cat that hisses at me when I get too close. He's skinny and sad so I feed him his favorite wet/dry cat food mix. I have no idea where he sleeps, but he's always on my porch first thing in the morning
reply

oh my goodness! Charlie is soooo adorable! haha! it's funny how he seemed to get jealous and gave you that judgmental yet heart wrenching look after feeding other squirrels. haha! this is beautiful: )

Our animal, mammal cousins, are more like us than we've been led to believe. We love these cuties because our brains are designed to feel this way. Give them as much loving as they can take.

OMG I want him so bad! He is too cute. We had a family member that worked in the logging industry when I was a child so we raised squirrels all the time. Charlie makes me miss it

I have a Charlie as well. His name is Skinny Squirrel and I love him to pieces. Fyi, after 8 years of him livin high on the hog, there is nothin skinny about him anymore.

Animals are smarter than we think. They know your voice & they know they're safe with you & they know you got the good stuff (food) so theyll keep on coming back.
reply

Please don't feed them with cracked nuts, their teeth will grow over. They have to use their teeth, because they don't stop growing. That counts for squirrels too.

I have seen this video before six months back, some videos I have already seen but repeated and the happiness is always bounced watching more than a single time.

WOW that's so nice of you, Charlie is precious and Buddy too! I had a very light gray white squirrel for a friend about 30 years ago, loved that lil beauty!
