9: 38 Nope. Nope nope nope. It was CONFIRMED that THE MERCHANT and ALADDIN'S GENIE were indeed the SAME CHARACTER. The creators made the beloved theory CANON in honor of William's death. So while their may have been a second genie I think you got some wrong information on the merchant being that genie. In any case now that we know he is THE genie it's a moot point.
Though I admit the second genie idea itself seems interesting. SINCE JAFAR WAS A VILLAIN AGAIN IN THE SEQUEL AND WAS A GENIE LIKE AT THE END OF FILM 1. Recycled idea? Maybe!

Personally I think they should have made Elsa a villain in the same vain as Dr. Facilier or Ursula.
Someone who 'helps' people to a degree though not out of the kindness of her heart so much as a means to an end. This would explain how Anna would know her [through reputation].
Maybe then we would get a villain who would be interesting and focus more on the interesting Elsa rather than Anna.

well maybe elsa being evil would have been interesting. but i like her more as a good guy. i mean hans express very clear the real life. i mean that for interes and only for fame u would do anything. and com on elsa and anna has such a warm relationship. and in some moments even though without her desire she is a little evil

Evil Elsa would have been more interesting but it wouldn't be family friendly.
I think that was the point why they changed the whole movie.
The atmosphere would have been pretty dark.

I think they should have kept Elsa's spiky blue hair and coat of living fur (but white foxes rather than weasels) and had her voiced by Bjork.
