In the italian version you left out the part where the prince or in that case the king doesn't kiss her in her sleep but rather rapes her and leaves. She only wakes up when the kids she gets after the rape suck the thread from unter her finger. It's quite interesting how much the Brothers Grim already deluded and took all the edges off those old stories. And later Disney put their usual unhealthy suger coating on top of the already toned down stories.

I wouldnt say SHE necessarily considers herself the mistress of evil bc she really isnt evil. She wants to protect her lands and her anger for humans kinda affected the tone of the land making her seem like a villain and making faries afraid even tho they knew she was protecting them. She was more a villain to the kingdom of people bc they didnt know the truth and why she was doing what she was doing bc her friend did all this for his own greed

I for one think it's nice that they gave Maleficent a Reason to become the Mistress of all Evil, like instead of having it where she was just plain Born to be Evil, we see that she was a Victim to someone else's wrong doing, and she became more of a Vengeful Character rather than just a Character who is Evil for the sake of Having an Evil Character, a little bit of Character Depth can go a Long Way!

I have a felling that the three fairy's know something about maleficent's back story or something about her coz I just have little thought that the fairy's have a dark secret coz when I just watched this from the start of the video I knew it the fairy's have something that maleficent fans should know. I love the animated version, where she doesn't have the backstory. I equally love the live action, where they added the backstory for her. No matter which of the two, those I feel are pretty good at telling us her story in the way we're used to. She has always been my top villain, no matter what. Maleficent is ultimately great in my opinion.

I 've seen another version of Sleeping Beauty, where she was a sleeping princess who was cursed by some unknown fairy. And, some other fairies had been taking care of her. However, one day they left, and a random prince found her. And raped her while she was still asleep. Then some other mumbo jumbo happened. yeah. Oof

I love the 1959 version from the moment I saw it I knew there had to be more to why she cursed her and (my fav) Angelina told me exactly what I needed to hear. Those versions are top notch
