Looking behind the scenes of Jordan Peele s new movie Nope, there really is a lot to talk about. Not only the fact that Jordan decided to step out of his comfort zone on this film writing something he wasn t even sure he could pull off, but he had a major IMAX budget and a legendary cinematographer behind him on the job. Let s jsut say - it won t be disappointing for any of his fans! Not only that, but his entire crew and iconic cast all worked as a collaborative team to bring this movie to life.
When writing the movie, he immediately had Keke Palmer in mind to play Emerald, as well as Daniel Kaluuya to play OJ. Can you say dream team? As far as the character development went, he give his actors a lot of freedom to improv and feel out their personal stories and intentions as they went. When you throw in the incredible set that was built on an actual desert in Los Angeles County, the movie definitely pops off the screen as something majorly surreal.
Did you know that Jean Jacket, the insane UFO jellyfish creature that terrorizes the already dark town was based on actual marine life? Jordan Peele worked with John Dabiri, an expert on jellyfish and other marine life to create the terrifying creature. We ll be getting into all that and so much more you probably didn t know the first time through. Like us, you re definitely gonna wanna run back to the theater and catch Nope a second time.
