The Cuphead Show has an incredible cast behind the voices, like Tru Valentino as Cuphead, Frank Todaro as Mugman, Joe Hanna as Elder Kettle, Wayne Brady as King Dice, and Luke Millington-Drake as the Devil. When it came to Tru Valentino's Cuphead voice, we've got his East Coast mother and some old-school mobster movies to thank for it.
The creators always knew they wanted Cuphead and Mugman to sound like they were from the East Coast, but Tru Valentino and Frank Todaro took the voices to a whole new level comedically. Frank Todaro describes it as a collaborative process - he's just a cog in the Cuphead wheel, as he describes it. We ve also got the incredible addition of the hilarious Natasia Demetriou, who you might recognize as Nadja from What We Do in the Shadows.
She was brought on as Cala Maria yes that is a play on the dish, calamari. In the Cuphead video game, Cala Maria is a big boss who is no joke to fight in the show, she is equally as scary and quite hilarious with the talented Natasia behind her. If you ve seen her in What We Do in the Shadows, you would understand why we are so excited to see her performance as the sassy sea monster.
We also can't forget that talented Grey DeLisle who has voiced an insane amount of characters from shows like Dexter's Labratory, Rugrats, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Scooby-Doo and many, many more.
