Mastermind is a creep, even with Jean Grey. I would love to see how she fell for Doom in the first place. I'm sure he could be charming. Carol & Vision was awkward. Wanda tried to make people happy in an alternate world and failed. The Avengers didn't know how to help her, but should have been more concerned back when Vision was disassembled. They could have avoided Disassembled if they had helped her then. Quicksilver /Scarlet Witch in the Ultimate universe. .. no, just no. .. Actually, the Vision was the one to want kids and they used magic from the New Salem witches. Then retconned. .. and retconned again. I would have loved for Wanda to stay a mutant and her parents to stay Magneto and Magda.

This is emphatically not a defense of any specific Ultimates-related writing decisions, but it is -not- hard to find examples of Wanda and Pietro being super codependent and inappropriate about one another on main continuity. (COUGH -House of M- #7 AHEM) It's honestly a read on their dynamic that could be explored in a really plausible and interesting way, Ultimates just. was not that.
