Ridley wasn't hard. You can spam missiles. and I thought the general consensus was Ruby WEAPON was harder than Emerald. and Sonic 2's Death Egg robot? Not even hard. Culex is #1? Culex is not hard at all. TEDIOUS, yes. Hard. No.
Who came up with this list? I'm no super-expert gamer, but a lot of these entries my kid self had no problem beating. Akuma should've been #1. since getting to him in the arcade was a pain and he was legit cheap and purposely OP'd

The current thumbnail confuses me. It's clearly intended to be the scene from Super Metroid at the start where Ridley steals the infant Metroid, but those are Metroid: Zero Mission sprites. Is that custom? Or from a ROM hack? Samus can't kneel in Super Metroid.
Fascinating. I'm not usually expert enough on anything to notice these things, but I know my Super Metroid! Lol

I was a 90s gamer. What I liked the most (then vs now) was that game length seemed to be 5-30 hours. This meant your avg gamer could complete, master and replay easily. which imo made devs focus on gameplay first. 30 hrs of nonsensical side quests was never anything anyone wanted. Modern gaming is great too just not as great, lol.

Where is Nine Ball from Armored Core: Master of Arena? That is one of the toughest bosses from the 90s video games, considering it was one of the earliest video games developed by fromsoftware and it took countless losses to beat that final boss.

There is an easy way to defeat the final boss in Sonic 2, just avoid Robotnik and when he falling down stand on the left or right corner so you can later dodge and attack him without taking damage.
reply

I disagree with Culex at #1. SMRPG is an easy game and you can beat Culex without much trouble without the Lazy Shell or Super Suit. Even if you wanted to grind to max level, that doesnt take very long.
reply

Do your research better next time Watchmojo, saying nothing preceded the Death Egg Robot fight in Sonic 2 is completely wrong, you had to fight Metal Sonic beforehand in the same level.
reply

Emerald weapon is easy as long as you have specific materia you need to use knights of the round and mimic and phineix and final attack then grab a book cuz you're in for a long wait

I actually fight a guy in my karate class like shao Kahn. He knows how to close the distance, he's really fast, and of course he hits like a train. Don't get me started on his Warhammer

Where s nineball seraph from armored core master of arena It should be on the list because this is an early example of from software bosses that we see today.
reply

For me, Ultimecia from FF VIII. You don t start with the party you had, if you don t revive your teammates, they got lost forever, and she can one hit you GF s.

Did anyone notice the winning song between 4: 09 and 9: 51?
Its from 2 different game titles but they did share the same winning tune. Just noticed it

reply

Culex - Super Mario RPG unless you manage to get The Lazy Shell or (Nearly impossible to get) Super Suit you're NOT beating this Super Boss
reply

I d say way harder bosses in final fantasy games that came out but let s go with final fantasy 7. The only game that ever matters
reply

3: 12 Thanks Watchmojo for the Nostalgia. I can't count how many times I cast Knights of the Round on Emerald Weapon to beat him.
reply

Don't know what was Harder Winning every round in Street Fighter 2 on one try. or all that hardwork wasted when you lose to Akuma?
reply

I haven't played all the games on this list but I will say that Wizpig from Diddy Kong Racing should NOT be on this list
