Polar Express will always be near and dear to me. It's a wonderful collaboration of several iconic people in cinema who already brought some of my favorite movies ever. Robert Zemeckis and Alan Silvestri, who already gave us Back to the Future, and others like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, with Silvestri later doing the scores in MCU films like Avengers. Then of course Tom Hanks's voice is an absolute blast to hear, largely since I grew up watching the Toy Story films.
Overall, a phenomenal movie. The song When Christmas Comes to Town almost made me tear up, absolutely beautiful. Some people I know made some interesting comments on The Polar Express. One referred it as the Tom Hanks is Every Character Express, and another stated this is one Christmas movie that could be watched at any time of the year.

I never liked elf. Not when it was new and not now. I'm actually pretty annoyed with how popular it became. The only thing I enjoy about it it that ending with new York singing and Santa flying threw the city. Out of the whole entire movie that's all I consider worth watching.
LOVE Arthur Christmas it really does deserve more love! Especially when you realize Umbridge actually plays Mrs clause in that film. And it feels so relevant as well to so many family dramas during the holidays and the issues between generations.
Loved Christmas Chronicles and Klaus! I watch them each year

Am I the only one that found JINLGES JANGLES pretentious?
It tries way too hard to be a feel-good movie (like Disney, the dialogue seemed to be written by children, and the musical numbers were very annoying (but that's because I hate musicals)
Not to mention it was also very mean-spirited
The only reason why I watched the movie was simply because I'm a fan of steampunk
I haven't even seen a trailer or the synopsis when I selected the movie. Just by seeing that it was steampunk was enough to get my attention

I got the rise of the guardians as a Christmas gift from an old friend 2 years ago, and it's honestly going to be one of my go-to Christmas movies going forward along with Home alone, The Polar Express and a weird favorite movie that has no Christmas in it at all scooby doo and the alien invaders that last one is my birthday go to movie every year since it's my favorite scooby doo movie and since my birthday is close to Christmas I just group it right in.

When my mother was alive, we both watched Alastair Sim's Christmas Carol plus an animated version of Christmas Carol, from Burbank Films Australia. Both are the closest films that are, more or less, true to the story that Charles Dickens, Another one that I like to watch is How the Grinch Stole Christmas, all 3 versions, although I usually watch the animated version first as helps in watching the other 2 movies.

2002 could have included The Santa Clause 2, but I am incredibly disappointed that AGAIN Ms. Mojo has not included a single faith based film! 2006 had The Nativity Story, 2009 had The Perfect Gift, 2014 had Christmas Grace, 2017 had The Star, 2018 had Christmas Manger and 2023 has Journey to Bethlehem (although I will agree that The Holdovers was an interesting movie for this years holiday season.

2000s How The Grinch Stole Christmas, 2003s Elf, The Polar Express, 2009s A Christmas Carol, Rise Of The Guardians, and A Madea Christmas are movies I've seen multiple times. There's a flux capacitor in the cab of the Polar Express as an easter egg to Back To The Future, and it led to the theory of the train being a time machine.

Can't believe neither Krampus (2015) or Noelle (2019) didn't make the cut, at least for Honorable Mentions. Both of those are so great for such different reasons (Krampus, the cult classic and Noelle, the wholesome coming of age, they are not missed in my house every year.

Thank you for including Anna and the apocalypse. I watched it for the first time last year and I was so surprised by it can t wait to watch it again this year. Also better watch out it s a great film as well but I hate the lead actor in it or he was a s. o. b

You missed the best Christmas film of 2017, which is clearly the very underrated The Man Who Invented Christmas.
Also, for me, the best Christmas movie of 2006 is The Nativity Story. Thank you for including Arthur Christmas and The Holdovers.

One of my annual Christmas movies (besides Klaus, Gremlins, Elf and Grinch) is Krampus. A brilliant comedy horror about the shadow of Saint Nick and with a good message about holding onto the Christmas spirit, especially in difficult times.

I know 2007 didn t have many Christmas movies that year, but I m glad This Christmas is on here! I watch it every year with my mom, she loves it so much and I love the cast, plus Chris Brown s version of This Christmas is amazing!
reply

The first Harry Potter movie is not a Christmas movie. Just because there's one scene in the movie that took place during Christmas does not make it a Christmas movie. It also came out in November, well before Christmas.

the holiday maybe but nostalgia for me for the rest tim allen or home alone and the rest of the saga in yet love the coopers 2015 almost christmas 2016 bad moms christmas 2017 more me along witth rise of the guardians

2009 = mixed reviews indeed, especially when you even think about the ghost of Christmas present die and the crazy kids under him grow up and go even crazier and see the spirit turn into a skeleton and to dust

The Polar Express is the movie I fell in love with the moment I saw it. Everything is perfect, the story, songs, music, visuals and ofcourse my favourite actor Tom Hanks in multiple roles. Also, I love trains.

As much as I love Rise of the Guardians, it's actually set at Easter time. It's a movie the world has slept on for faaaaaaaaar too long. It's heartwarming and fun. The cast is epic and works well together.

2004. The great disappointment. Being a huge fan of the original. To the point my parents had to get a new company I was sorely disappointed by how far it strayed from the original story.
reply

I haven t seen Violent Night yet, but I have to say that between that movie, Spirited and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special 2022 was a strong year for Christmas movies.
