Welcome to WatchMojo and today we’re counting down our picks for the top 10 most controversial Lego sets. In this list, we take a look at various controversial Star Wars sets, product recalls and how fans shunned The Simpsons Lego. Do you know of any controversial Lego sets Mr gold figure was put me also to buy many of those bags and was searching like a madman to see with the touch method if i have the hat since it was from the easy and pretty big pieces to find! It was a cash grab all right, the lego minifigures it is a shameless cash grab from the moment lego made them 5 euros each. For me this is ludacris as a price for such a small figurine with so few stuff inside as a whole! Better search for polybag mini sets instead of those which they worth their money more! At least with the retro cop minifigure they put one in each box to find close to mr gold.

The Jabba's Palace felt forced. They should have taken issue with George Lucas, not Lego.
I never saw the Shell sets and only knew Octan in Lego City. And admittedly Octan is going green. A few sets have featured Octan power cells for electric cars or recharge stations.
And another controversy was over the first wheelchair piece Lego produced. It was for some Duplo set the instructions showed a nurse pushing an old man in a wheelchair. This got some handicap groups upset, claiming it made it look like wheelchairs were for the old and the infirm. Lego issued an apology and a few years later released a minifig scaled wheelchair piece in their Fun at the Park people pack. It showed a normal looking guy in the wheelchair and he was smiling and depicted throwing a ball to a kid. I had to give Lego credit for not making a big deal out of it or trying to draw attention to it. I like to describing the re-release of Dave Chapelle's Half-Baked. The old cover had all three main characters just standing side by side on the cover. The newer cover, post Chapelle Show, still had the other two in their spots but Dave's face front and center on the box.

There's a controversial LEGO set that may not be in this video, and it goes by the name Turg from Mixels, it caused controversy because of the description Turg that explains him as an experiment gone very wrong, part frog, part chicken, part back of the bus window licker, the controversial part is Window licker, an offensive term for people with learning disabilities, LEGO removed window licker along with part back of the bus and kept selling the set

There is a lot of Lego sets I want, but 2 of the sets I want the most is the Lego Star Wars ATTE, which comes with a Commander Cody mini figure which I want so much but also the ATTE is probably one of my favorite land vehicles in Star Wars, then there is the Lego Star Wars Venator Class Star Destroyer, which is my favorite star ship in any science fiction movies.

My sister wasn't impressed with me, when I bought a Lego Friends set for my niece as a christmas present. I then realised it was very gender specific, and I thought why, would Lego do that In my opinion it was sending a message to parents that girls won't like any of the sets that require proper building, as most of the Lego Friends models are basic at best.

The lego concentration camp i believe does not count since it is an artistic set which it isn't also build as a lego if you watch the pieces how they go together! It seems off in parts of the roofs and stuff in the box art, which lego would not use those techniques for building their sets i believe this wasn't lego's fault!

I don't see any of them to be risque to be honest with you in my opinion it's just people trying to find controversy where there was no controversy although I will admit the hype over the Mr goldfinger was a bit outlandish in my opinion and I will agree that it was nothing more than a cash grab

Was gonna leave it alone but no. Jabba’s palace is a stretch as Lego pieces could do so much and in the movie, the design was - in my opinion - a reference to the idea and meme, If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it.
To call it out as anything racist is low.

Conclusion: People are either a bunch of snowflakes who get offended with anything, or a bunch of people who are never happy with anything. The one case where controversy was justified was the concentration camp set, and it wasn't even an official product.

The first ever Lego set I got with minifigs was the Shell station (set 377) in the late 70s. It always made sense to me that if my Lego town had so many cars, you needed a gas station to service them. Lego blocks themselves are a petroleum product.

After the 2012 Jabba's Palace (9516) debacle, we will never get a faithful UCS version of Jabba's Palace.
The recent Boba Fett's Throne Room (75326) or Boba Fett's Palace from 2022, looks horrible and overpriced.

In this hypocritical world we ban plastic bags etc but still have billions of Lego pieces sold which are made of what PLASTIC if the company stops making the sets where does the remaining lego go landfills

Hoog bezoek die mij beschermt met hart en ziel ik hoef mij niet ongerust te maken, zei God met zijn verbrande slang, ik wordt niet vermalen, en als ik euthanasie krijg, dan wordt ik niet vermalen

Let's not forget about the window licker controversy where Turg from the Lego Mixels line was called an offensive term used in the United Kingdom and an experiment gone very very wrong

I clearly remember buying the Jabba’s Palace LEGO set when I was 9 years old. Had no idea it was THAT controversial until I saw the Phantomstrider Controversial LEGO Sets video.

I’m just glad that Monkie Kid wasn’t on the list. Some people made ridiculous comments about how racist it is because of the characters being yellow.

Yeeeeees even though it’s being talked about for it’s controversy Lego friends has appeared on watchmojo yeeees I can live my life happy now
reply

that LAST one is really odd, as it was a style of building that it looked at and was not eer meant as a commentary on muslims or their faith.

Because of this Lego would never remake the Anakin killing Tusken, even with more creatur3s and with the new Tusken figures
