NIGHTFALLDROP
Not sure I entirely agree with the addition of War of the Worlds. Not because of the aliens catch a cold ending (that as you mentioned was the result of the original source material. But if Robbie's incomprehensible survival. If your remember, Robbie's bull headed and wrong minded desire to hurt his father, owd him to join up with the military in its bid to defend the earth. And while one would easily conclude that he would die at the hands of the invaders during their unstoppable rampage across the world; what is missing is the good common sense of military leaders in charge of the forces leading the defense. Contrary to popular thoughts or opinions, NO WESTERN TRAINED OFFICER would put a civilian, with no military training on the front lines to fight. Most ESPECIALLY a kid! Only unless he/she literally has NO OTHER ALTERNATIVES! Understand that military members have years of special physical, mental, and equipment training that NO CIVILIAN JUST HAS because they watch YT or a plethora of war movies. Not to mention, no one has the time or inclination to teach a 16-17 yr old kid how to fire a weapon in the midst of a fire fight. In essence, the minute Robbie would've met up with any Army member of authority, he would've been arrested and then transported to his nearest parent or place of safety. Whichever option was more expedient.

I felt that the ending to Toy Story 4 should have been on this list. I felt infuriated how Woody decided to remain with Bo Peep at the carnival and not return, and what might have been even worse, Bonnie didn't seem to know or care that Woody was gone. It still angers me how Bonnie went from treating Woody like he was probably the most important toy ever in Toy Story 3 to acting like Woody didn't exist in Toy Story 4. The ending to the movie made me rage quit. As for The Dark Knight Rises, there was a sign showing how Bruce Wayne survived. When Lucius Fox was trying to see how the autopilot on the ship could have been fixed, the technicians revealed it had been fixed a long time ago, and it was revealed that it was Bruce Wayne who fixed it, though I do agree with you on that. I didn't like how Bruce Wayne decided to stop being Batman, and how he passed the mantle to that cop instead, but I don't think it was a terrible movie. I thought the movie was okay and I do have a copy of it on DVD, and I liked that Bruce was Batman for most of the movie anyway.

The water glasses being left all over in Signs is contrived but that is also sort of the point. A main theme of the film is fate vs. chance. That is, do things happen for a reason or do they just happen randomly and mean nothing. It's a theme worth exploring but is also almost impossible to explore in film since everything in a film happens for a reason - the filmmaker put it there. That a small child would randomly leave glasses of water about didn't bother me at all. My little sister used to leave bowels of milk from cereal all over so it just seemed like a weird quirk to me. That it became significant was deliberate, as the film is trying to say things happen for a reason, much like the main character's wife getting killed as she did and the words swing away. The idea was that things that seemed random were actually being set up that way by god/fate/destiny/whatever because they needed to be. But in a scripted film, it always just looks like the screenwriter put it there for a convenient ending.

between the mist and man of steel, it's seeming like some of the entries on this list are audience is mad that life is complicated and messy, and pretty goddamn depressing. i'm not even a fan of superman but i LOVE that he actually had to make a tough choice. the reality was he either killed zod or zod was going to kill everyone on earth. and henry cavill did a fantastic job depicting the emotional devastation of having to make that choice (just like david's scream at the end of the mist accurately reflected a man whose very soul has just been ripped out of his chest - that feeling of i don't know if i want to scream or cry but i need to let something out so here goes. there is no magic nobody dies solution, it's not an easy choice. i was really hoping ATLA would do the same but i guess that's too much to ask of a kid's show.

The touch grass ending of Surrogates would have been my #1 pick. Protag shuts down all the surrogates to force his humanism on everyone that doesn't want it, including his own wife who is clearly happier as a surrogate but he refuses to respect that. It's supposed to be some technology bad, humanity good ending, but the reality in the context of the movie's world is that now all crippled people will have to go back to being crippled. The terminally ill people no longer have an escape. People working in dangerous jobs will have to go back to risking their lives. Start of the movie also says that surrogates reduced crime by like 70% (not sure how that works but it's what the movie says. The ending just makes the protagonist seem horrifically selfish.

I really hate to say this: Steve Rogers living in the past from Avengers Endgame cuz before they begin their quest for the infinity stones, Bruce banner said Changing the past doesn’t change the future and then after Steve brought the stones back at the exact moment they got them from, he resided in the 1950’s to live with and marry Peggy, we finally see him as an old man, that means he did change both the past and the future cuz he’s in the same timeline he recently exited to put the stones back, how can Watchmojo not fully realise this after 5 years since that film came out

In defense of Twilight's Breaking Dawn 2 dream fight scene, the movies all tried to follow the books as much as possible and although I think Bill Condon dropped the ball on the last 2, the one thing I felt he did right was that battle. If you read the books you'd know that if he just did what happened in the last book, then there would be no fight scene at all and just a bunch of vampires on a field making funny faces at each other looking like they're constipated. At least this way with seeing what Alice was showing Aro we got some satisfying action in the end.

Revenge of the Fallen suffered from a writers strike hence why the ending was rushed so much. The original ending would have been Megatron abandoning the Fallen and Prime throwing him into a black hole. I think the ending we got while rushed seemed like a more promising defeat.
I get alot of people actually enjoy the Mist ending but to me its kind of a d move more than a message to the audience
And I actually liked the ending to Planet of the Apes because it was about a wormhole time passage thing where Thade simply got to Earth before Davidson did.

Okay seriously
1. A. I. ’s ending was such a tearjerker to me.
2. The Mist’s ending, while bleak and shocking, was definitely not awful!
And 3. The Dark Knight Rises gave a subtle hint on Bruce’s survival, that I actually commented on the last time you included this on a worst endings list.
Bruce commented earlier that the Batwing’s autopilot couldn’t be fixed, then after his sacrifice Lucious discovered that the autopilot was indeed repaired.
Do you guys actually read the comments on your videos

Controversial opinion. I I didn't think the neck break scene from Man of Steel was that bad. Granted, the scene could have been done a little better, but I liked the idea they were going for for about Superman making a tough decision in order to save people.
I think what ruins it is the fact that the next scene just kind of ignores it like it never happened, I feel like they should had at least one scene with Clark discussing and reflecting on what he did in order to make it work.

I don't think there are a lot of people out there who liked A. I. much at all.
Thanks for having the guts to say that The Mist had a terrible ending. I definitely hated it, not sorry. It was just too much. Not that I mind a character having tons of guilt heaped on them, but it has to feel right, and that did not feel right for me. It felt like things ended so horribly just for the sake of making the audience go, Holy shit! I can't believe they did that! Just my opinion.

Planet of the apes made sense to he went through a wormhole that was still attached to the past he came from the ape timeline not his own. It made sense to me. He never went through a worm hole he was in another dimension the first time he jumped it wasnt the past or future of the humans ran earth. He went to a demention where apes ruled. So in the end when he thought he was goingvto a human future he went to the apes future. But he jumped dementions not time.

this list failed on a couple of points firstly: The Dark Knight. You misunderstood that ending Bruce did in fact die and Alfred was hallucinating a happy life for him in a tragic what could have been if he stepped away like he wanted him to do so many times. Secondly The Mist wasn't and alien invasion it was Eldritch monsters being pulled in, while similar they're different and the tragic ending is in fact one of ther best endings of the 2000's

We don't need others to tell us how to think, feel or have some form of closure to enjoy a good story telling. If you need to be guided through how to think about what an artist is saying you may need to expand your inner world, your views. The narrator here seems to fit in that category. Narrow-minded and small thinking. MOJO gets it wrong again on why some endings here were hated or even how many people actually hated the ending.

The best thing about the 2005 War of the Worlds is the appearance of Gene Barry and Ann Robinson as the grandparents; they were the stars of the 1955 version. If one likes a twist on the ending, watch Independence Day which uses a computer virus against the aliens.
Although the ending of the recent Planet of the Apes was not as iconic as the original, it actually harkens back to the ending of the novel.

No the mist ending was good i got it it was a tragedy he thought he was saving from being eaten by aliens alove. But come to find out the army was fighting back. That scream he gave off was out of sorrow, guilt, that if they just would've waited a few seconds they all included his son would be alive. In essence he feel like he murdered his child after all that he did. That was a good but heartbreaking ending

The thing people seem to miss with Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is that it was specifically supposed to be a pastiche of 50s sci-fi films, just as the original was an homage to 30s adventure serials. I didn't have a problem with the film or the ending per se, what killed it for me was the very shoddy CGI. I'd have preferred they leaned into the goofy 50s sci-fi aesthetic to really sell the theme better.

Okay, seriously. Watchmojo. You are going after the plot points of that actual War of the Worlds story, now! You are seriously making yourselves look like total ss-hat, whippersnappers who couldn't grasp an ironic twist if it reached out of a classic 1800's, scifi novel, word for word and spelled itself out with a Morgan Freeman voice over.
Credibility, officially SHOT, Watchmojo. Wow.

In defense of man of steel Superman WILL kill lol He's killed Zod a number of times in the comics even letting him and the other renegades die slowly from kryptonite poisoning. Hell he even tells Joker he will in the comics and terrifies him because he knows he means it. It's Batman that just will NOT kill and even that depends on the rendition cause plenty of Batman versions kill too.

Idk why this guy stated that AI: Artificial Intelligence is one of Spielberg's best movies, when it so obviously is one of his worst movies he's ever made/been a part of. AI is one of the worst movies that I think I've ever seen. The time skip was tacked on, the mother angle at the end was tear bait, and the story was entirely pointless. Nothing of value happened in that movie.
