Pro hairstylist uses kool-aid to color hair (it didn't go well) Mistellesonn: I successfully did this on my shoulder-length hair in high school. and from that experience I would suggest NEVER DOING THIS. I used probably 7-8 packets of green and blue kool aid, with just enough conditioner to fully coat my hair. That stuff was pigmented! Over my medium-brown hair in dark light it gave me just a cooler tone, but in sunshine I straight up glowed like I was radioactive. I left it on overnight and when I woke up it had smeared around and stained my skin (face, ears, neck) terribly. I looked like a swamp monster and that didn't wash off for a good ten days. Then the green NEVER washed out of my hair. I tried using color removers and it did not pull any color out (however it did give me hot roots! yippee for making this terrible hair color even worse. I had to get some brown dye to cover up my roots and then wait for the whole mess to grow out. So. Like. This may be cheap, and easy for kids/teens to get their hands on and do themselves, but oh geeze please do not try this.

If you use liquid kool aid it would work better because one day I brought liquid kool aid to school and my friend asked me to put it in her hair (she has dark brown hair so I didnt think it would work) it dyed her and stain her ski we spent like an hour in the bathroom trying to get it out her hair was still kinda red after that and her hands were stained for a week. Also you should try crayola marker because when I was little I had a Barbie doll with blue hair and I squeezed the ink thing of a red and purple marker anto har hair and her hair turned purpl I tried to wash it out like 10 times and it was still extremely purple

Me personally I dyed my hair with Kool-Aid and it was really pigmented and I really loved it it was amazing on my hair and my hair is a really dark brown so.
Hold up we even use the same video
And the fun part was that my hair smelled like Kool-Aid!
And now I just realize we didnt use shampoo or anything. Just water,
But also how we did it I had to sit outside with it with my hair dipped in a bucket of Kool-Aid powder with water in it and it did work really really well so I dont know

in middle school, my best friend's family was very conservative and she wasn't allowed to color her hair. my mom was a cosmetologist when she was younger, and allowed me to do whatever i wanted with my hair (within reason) so my friend and i took like ten packets of the blue raspberry kool-aid and meticulously did our best to dye her jet black, korean hair. it worked, very faintly, enough so that it shimmered blue in the sunlight, and she smelled like blue raspberry for like two weeks.

I tried to dye my hair with cool aid today because I have a lot
of gray hair and I wanted something to temporarily color it. I mixed up some grape and it turned green I did not put it on my hair I then tried some blue
Kool aid and it came out a nice color but when I rinsed it out all the blue came out. So then I looked up on you tube to see if anyone else got these results.

I swear Brad is out here showing off his money calling Pantene the cheap conditioner. In my childhood that was only for my dad and my mom was the only one who could use Tresemme while the rest of us (four) kids only ever used whatever was on sale. Majority of the time we got a two-in-one shampoo and conditioner and it would last us about three weeks.

When I dye my hair with kool-aid I usually get a medium sized container or whatever will fit all my hair in then I'll mix the kool-aid with really hot water till it's all dissolved and then just put my head back making sure that all the hair I want is in there and then just let it sit for 30-45mins and then rinse it and dry it

I like to dye my tips red with koolaid and it always super dark I dye it by boiling water on the stove and mix the koolaid in when its hot. Then dipping my hair into the hot solution after putting it in a cup. My hair stays healthy because I never use hair dye and it fades out in a month or 2 so I can change it all the time!

i have hair that is a slightly darker shade than the mannequin, and i've dyed my hair with koolaid before. unless you bleach it the blue will NEVER look good or come out. I ended up having to cut it all out when i dyed it blue. i think you really need to bleach it for that to work

I hope I did something right you say not to dye your hair with Kool-Aid me like a weirdo I just did and when I listen to your video you said the purple turns green I just hope it didn't turn green but thank you for your advice wish me luck thank you Brad

I koolaid dyed my hair purple (turned out like a sort of red tint and stayed from when i was 8 to when I cut my hair a few months ago im 11 now, blue (turned out greenish tint and disappeared within like 2 days replaced by the red until i cut my hair)

That is not the why to dye hair with cooladed I did it for a long time and you put water and then dip it in it and put the hair in like something to rap it and then like 30-60 minutes then wash your hair and blow dry and that is how you do it due

Could be a pH issue, some colourings and flavourings are affected by pH so maybe the conditioner neutralised the acidic drink mix. Purple cabbage can go from bright pink to dark blue depending on how acidic or alkaline the dressing.

When I did this when I was a kid, I just did plain kool-aid in boiling water, let I cool enough to where it wouldn't burn, and just dunked my hair for a half hair in the hot water kool-aid and it stained my hair for years!

We did this in the 80s and it actually worked. We didnt dilute it with water, we just mixed it straight with a conditioner. I dont know if theyve changed the ingredients of Kool-Aid since then, but it worked in the day.
