I think that what you didn't do, that other people did to make this work, is that they boiled the water. You put water into the mix in your other video and then mixed the conditioner in. .So perhaps you could boil the Kool-aid, add the conditioner, and maybe the heat from the water in the Kool-aid will help it stay. Cos when I watched this video, then watched the one you did yourself, that was the ONE thing I don't think you did; boil the Kool-aid.
I also take a bit of hot water and mix Kool-aid and sugar together in a pitcher before I ever finish actually making the drink. Maybe the heat helps seep into your hair like a Tea Bag seeps in a hot cup of water.

You know, Brad. if these people used hot water (not boiling hot, but slightly cooled after boiling water, then add the amount of Kool-Aid, then add a Tablespoon of Conditioner to that water/Kool-Aid mixture. the depth of that Kool-Aid Color would be deeper, a little darker with shimmering effects on the hair.
This is too cool. but do NOT use a plastic bowl for the boiling water & Kool-Aid, as the Microplastics WILL attach to your hair. bad. Use a large GLASS Bowl.

Brad's face in this thumbnail is the correct response. 80's hair techniques are truly terrifying!
I never tried the hair boiling method, dang I never knew people were making Easter eggs of themselves!
Viv is very talented and adorable. I always love her videos.
I'm learning so many better methods for Kool-Aid dyes than I did in the 80's! I was a kid, I didn't know what I was doing! If only we'd had the internet then!

Ik this was 8 months ago but I have an idea why it could have not worked out for you. As some people would have noticed all the other people used their actual hair where as Brad used a Maniquine wich could possibly have hair made out of plastic like dolls and stuff so yeah(I'm not some type of expert I'm just sharing a idea of why it didn't work)
Edit: Whats cool aid btw?

i love dip dying my hair! i always do red koolaid, i dip my my hair in for like 10-15 minutes, and then leave my hair wet in foils for like 20 minutes, and then wash it out: ) the best thing is, is that you cant strip it out with baking soda and boiling water! red is always stubborn to get out, but this method just brings you back to your natural hair

uhm the last video u watched they did it a bit wrong. they only kept it in for 7 mins. most people do like 15-30 mins to actually make the color look better. my hair is a pretty red and i dyed it with purple, green, and red. and i dyed my brothers dark brown hair with blue and stuck his head in the pot for 30 minutes and it came out fine.

I legit have pics of my hair being bright red from Kool aid. Was one of my biggest regrets ever though just because red wasn't my color, but no hot water, you can boil it but let it cool!
I really think it's not a bad idea being it's natural, but I'd love if there were any info on it.

Y daughter dyed her hair when she was in junior high with Kool-aid. It dyed really well, however she did it, but it wasnt with boil hot water. The only bad thing was, she was a cheerleader and at practice when she started sweating she had blue kool-aid running down her face.

I have darkish brown hair and used red Kool aid. I used 8 packs in 2 cups of water boiled it and dipped the ends of my unbleached hair into it. It worked fine and lasted for 4 months it would have lasted longer if I didn't cut it off: ) try it if you are thinking about it!

Ok, idk if anyone has mentioned this, but hair will accept acid dyes just like wool. Kool Aid has citric acid in it, which acts as a mordant, fixing the dye into the fiber (the hair strand) the hot water allows the color to penetrate well.

I did this on dark brown hair back when I was younger. Used purple kool aid, let it cool poured it into ziploc bags, tied the bags to the ends of my hair. the color was there for literal years until I got it cut out

The only creator who got this to work was the Black woman with C4 curls who used about 50packets! If I tried this (as a Black woman with like a C3 curl pattern) I would do the same. Her hair looked dope!
