Hairdresser Reacts To DIY Root Touch-Ups Gone Wrong Emma: Oh no, watching the third girl was terrifying. It was beautiful before! I attempted to re-touch my balayage during lockdown and even though I did a surprisingly great job, thanks Brad and my old hairstylist for all the hours of watching in the chair! I will never do my own hair again. Even with a solid plan, it's soo hard to execute a good touch-up on one self backwards in mirrors, the risk of unnecessary damage from improper technique is too great
Shout out to all the hairdressers, your job is hard and you make it look easy!

I'm really glad I found your videos.
I started off knowing next to nothing about hair colouring, and not having the courage to dye my own hair.
But now I only go to my hairdresser for trims and more complicated cuts and colour combos (like rainbow colours)
I've learned to take better care of my hair, what to do when I mess up (because of course I still mess up sometimes) and how I can make sure my hair doesn't end up completely fried.
Recently, a friend has asked me to do her daughter's hair, because she loves what I do with my hair so much.
I'm a little anxious about it, because I'm used to my light blond to dark brown hair, and this girl has dark brown to black hair, which I'm not too familiar with.
Advice on how to best prepare this type of hair for pink streaks are welcome, while I'll continue to do some more research of my own.
After all, I wouldn't want to ruin the girl's hair, especially since she wants to show it off while trick or treating.

Brad, would foils help with slower processing time when it comes to getting closer to the scalp? Or is that just to stop it from bleeding to other sections? I professionally tried going blonde once. 600 buckaroos in and hair coming out everyday like I shave in the morning had me say 'Nope. No more torture. Back to black! ' I also bought all the after care provided. I feel like my hair just wasn't meant to be anything other than Morticia Addams vibes

I will say this I ve been watching these videos for years, and man I felt confident bleaching my own hair I originally started with 8 or 9 level dark hair, and I m now sitting at a yellowish/blond hair right now, and am TERRIFIED to bleach it again gonna wait for my roots to grow out and go to a professional! please, just do yourself a favor and start with a professional

I remembered the first girls video going viral about her losing her hair, due to some sort of chemical reaction? I don t remember but she was super downtrodden about it, but what bothers me is despite that experience she continues to do her own hair? I don t understand people anymore. If I was in that situation I would not touch my hair keep it natural at that point

My Mom, who was a hairdresser in the 50s, tried to help me fix my highlights at my roots. Needless to say it turned out horrible. Ran to the hairdresser the next day to fix it. I had to go darker which I absolutely loved and I am still a brunette after 15 years! What started as a mess actually became a blessing.

I always do my root retouches like every half year ( or when my bangs are nearly my all my natural dark blond hair color. And I have long bangs to my eyebrows) on my own and it never Fall of. So dramatic at the beginning
I agree the tricky part is the back of the head with mirrors always get confused

see you have to have best friends that specialize in all the important areas you want to diy in your life, especially hair cause wigs are just too daym hot in the summer. that said you need to offer skills too so you aren't that friend that wants all the time but ghosts when you get called

Somebody tell Heather, girl number 1, that her beauty lies in the amazing contrast between her black hair and her remarkable eyes. What an amazing combination! Bleaching her hair ruins everything. If she wants to spend money on her hair, she should spend it on a more flattering cut.

When I was 16, I was bleaching my hair allll the time without having proper knowledge on how to do it. My hair was long, healthy and perfectly light blonde. After watching Brads videos I don't get how it worked so damn well. I must have had a hair-dye guardian angel lol.

Just a video note, take it or leave it, but if you are going to wear reflective Glasses when filming cost the front with a non-reflective film. Or move your lights because the reflection is distracting and we can't see your eyes.
That's it. Sorry. Theatre nerd out.

as someone who's done many colour corrections, not much shocks me, but THIS. it shocked me. I was literally shouting at her STOOOOOOOOP as soon as she put the first foil on her head. it's entertaining tho, so there's that: (

I ve never understood why people would rather pay all that money for all these products instead of just using that money to go get it done. Those products are expensive and they always have to go back and buy more too.
