How flash-freezing preserves food quality Daniel: Great video. As someone who cooks a LOT of fish, both store bought and freshly caught, I've come across the notion that flash frozen seafood is significantly worse than fresh way too many times. I haven't been able to tell any appreciable difference between grouper eaten 4 hrs after it was killed and flash frozen grouper fillets in any context where the fish was cooked. Haven't tried a taste test for the raw products.

The frozen fish at Whole Foods is considerably better than the fresh fish they sell there. It's all flash frozen and vacuum sealed. Don't get me wrong, the fresh fish there is good too. But one time I needed cod and they were all out of fresh so I ventured over to the frozen fish and picked up some of the frozen cod. We couldn't believe how much better it was than the fresh stuff.

lmaoo adam this is ridiculous. Compare a fresh tomato to a frozen tomato. Or a fresh pizza compared to a frozen pizza. Or fresh fish compared to frozen. This is a little ridiculous. This doesnt apply for everything

We use liquid nitrogen to freeze our vegetables from the garden. We vacuum pack and throw them in a cooler and take them to a welding supply store in town and they freeze it. Charge us 20 max

Man, I thought I could come up with one more cool pun in a flash.
But I froze!
Seriously though, love your videos Adam! You've earned that golden play button you're about to get.

Most bad frozen food isn't bad because of the frozen part but because of the mass produced mess full of sodium and fat and sugar and carbs part.

If you'd like to do a bit on freeze drying I have a freeze dryer and would be happy to send you samples of whatever you'd like to show off.

He s right about the water waste: households account for only 3. 6% water usage whereas agriculture uses 92% of the global water supply

Just bought a liquid nitrogen duer, and ya, it makes some bomb ice cream. Not sure what else I should do with it, food-related.
