Twizzlers come in just about every flavor under the sun, but Claire only has one goal in mind: make a gourmet version of everyone's favorite. That's right -- the original, cherry-ish flavored Twizzler. Check out Claire's Instagram

Watching a legit chef struggle to recreate twizzlers gives me hope. I've tried and failed to make these in the past and funnily enough, most of my failures looked like her failures. Too soft, not enough flavor. You'd think it wouldn't be so hard considering how few ingredients are needed but getting the amounts correct and getting the sugar temp correct are super important. I'm inspired to attempt these again following her recipe. (though probably not trying to build an extruder and just rolling some out by hand. lol)

Alright so one way to eliminate the Twizzlers from closing up is to thicken up your bamboo stick and then as they extrude have a high walled baking pan ready with lots of ice and cold water to start with. Then let the Twizzlers cool down and then remove them twist them and flatten one side and then put them in the freezer for an hour and a few min depending on the Twizzlers's hardness. Basically there ya go.

2: 35 Hi Claire's Mom your daughter is awesome, and gives it 120%, and does great work. Hey Clair, I think you did fine, if I tried to make Twizzlers, they would be more like Fizzlers. I like your persistence and perseverance and inventiveness: )

Ive watched a lot of her gourmet videos and I feel like she got so wrapped up in making them perfectly similar she forgets shes suppose to make a more sophisticated version of it and she ends up never reaching that goal

Why the fck is this woman's hair going grey when I hear she's in her early 30s or something? Her complexion also looks kinda stressed. Must really be more than a handful of things to do (for ya'll.

i dont like the new twizzlers they have now. it taste like plastic. nothing like it was as a kid. back then it tasted like actual food. am i the only one who has noticed that our old beloved candy taste fake?

maybe the gourmet twizzlers werent hollow bc the dough) was so soft that even if the rigging worked, the inside sort of collapsed onto itself, closing up that empty space. but im an idiot what do I know
reply

the reason you could not use it as a straw was because you bought the jumbo pack which is filled with the reject twizzlers if you bought the normal 1 pack they are hollow and can be used as straws
