Molly Baz is the master-ish of pancake art. She's the master-ish of Iberico ham. She's the master-ish of survival cooking. And mostly recently she's the master-ish of raindrop cake. But can Molly master-ish the comically large ostrich egg? Want Bon Apptit shirts, hats and more? George Semel: None of it looked like I would want to eat it. While I have no problem with Ostriches or the Eggs, I don't really see the point of it. As for Salmon Eggs being Cahaviar well that is a stretch, to say the least. Then again the Real Cahavair is maybe more expensive than they wanted to spend on this one. Would I try it if invited sure I would, it would be rude not too? Now I think a Frittata would be the way to go with those, Just have 24 of your best friends show up for Brunch.

I wonder how that stuff smells that made everyone scared about eating it. I have had ostrich burgers and ostrich arrachera, and yeah, that stuff doesn't taste like poultry, it is more like a very, very lean red meat. I have even prepared ostrich bolognese, and it is tasty, but it sure isn't what you would think a bird tastes like.

Ostrich meat is pretty great, too. It's very red meat, but exceptionally lean, so it needs to be just barely seared, and served at no more than medium rare, with rare generally recommended (like, tataki level. I'm a bit sad at the lost opportunity Would have been cool to see Molly figure out how to make both ostrich products, IMO

Aren't they all chefs? why are so many iffed out about ostrich eggs? Raw fish is a trend. In regions of the world, they eat bugs. In my country we eat pig ears and chicken intestines, etc etc. But this is just basically an EGG x24 it's size.

That Jean-George egg was beautiful. Largest egg I have tried is a goose egg. I found the yolk so rich, almost too rich for my chicken egg palate. Was hoping someone would comment on how the ostrich egg fit into the mix.

I think people were wary because it's a bit. uncanny valley? It's something we're familiar with (egg) but it's just huge and has kinda a weird energy around it, slightly different than something 'normal'.

She was right when she said it would cost 1080 at Jean-Georges, cause the Ostrich farm guy said that each ostrich egg is 24 chicken eggs, and 1 Jean-Georges egg is 45 and 24 x 45 is 1080

That poached egg is horrifying. Although what if someone made a hundred year egg with an ostrich egg? That would be. something else lol. Molly have Brad make that for It's Alive.
