Ate at his restaurant a couple of times and it doesn't disappoint - very very tasty burgers! Basically ended up ordering 3 burgers each time - smash burger all the way, fried onion burger, and the special feature. Impossible to choose, but at least with smash burgers, they aren't huge. Still a lot of food though!
Saw George there once, mingling and doing his thing - pretty much comes across exactly like in these videos, super genuine guy. The staff all seemed to really like working there and were awesome. Great place, highly recommended!

Love the fact that it was originally done for factory workers and smashing it makes it easier and faster to eat. And not that it's smashed for some novelty purpose. Because I personally think it's not really a burger when you squish it like that, just odd. If it was done for function then perfect.

My 1st time eating burger king whooper sucks taste bad 2/10 there lettuce are not fresh and not being wash also same goes to Singapore same rating and same thing also both are mid raw looks cook in grilled but not cook enough for pure taste(I would rather have Smash Burgers Instead)

Great technique and great burger, but, this guy is obnoxious. Why is it that the smash burger is now some gourmet hip thing to eat I grew up outside of Chicago and this is how just about any non-fastfood burger place makes their burgers.

All those smash burgers look so very tasty. I have never hear of George before though. I wonder if the Smash Burger chain make their burgers this well And I never knew that the smash burgers were the original ones.

I went to this restaurant the same day I arrived in NYC for my vacation. Had the fried onion burger and a burger with peanut butter on it. Best hamburgers I’ve ever had and the customer service was immaculate.

Am I the only one yearning for the day gourmet/pub burgers come back in style I'm sure George's burgers are undoubtedly delicious, but gnawing on flattened disks of crust has lost its appeal for me.

George and Hamburger America is branded to within an inch of its life. But it's still authentic as heck. (and very tasty to boot)
To coin a term, he's absolutely smashing it!

I learned part of the reason restaurants are jumping on the smashburger bandwagon is because they use less meat. Basically they are giving less and charging a premium.

Ketchup in a burger should be made to be highly illegal & against the law. My kids disagree & always add ketchup, I tell them that they do not belong to me.

I think Louis Lunch in New Haven, CT would take exception to the Chester, they've been serving hamburgers on white bread since the late 1800s.

Best thing about George is how he breaks down everything about whatever burger he's cooking. Both the chemistry and the history behind it.

Hamburger preference is so much a matter of taste, I resent someone telling me who is best. Tons of people make smashburgers - who cares

Why chop the onion, so that the small pieces falls off the burger Why not slices of onion, which aren’t so inconvenient
reply

doesn't want to use brioche because it has sugar, yet uses sweet onions which he says is very sweet. How does that make sense

Comedian with an audience of 1; himself. Dude you're making the most basic of burgers, calm down, you're not quite Napoleon.

Americans are really weird. They are making a science over some overly cooked meat with a slice of cheese between two buns.

Thanks this helped so much
