Join Sohla El-Waylly in her home test kitchen as she makes lamb and scallion dumplings. To quote Sohla: Once you learn how to make a dumpling, you can dump anything. Her words, but truly words to live by. Douglas: Sohla is starting to become one of my favorite Bon Appetite chefs. She's just so sweet and a little awkward, but you know she's trying her best. Just like all of us. Also seeing that she has Corgis and a husband who also cooks makes me love her even more.

To cleave definitely is a verb, lol. I didn't realize it isn't used much in that form, though, most commonly as a noun-- one who cleaves, a cleaver. Or as cleavage, the place where something has been cleaved. Additionally it can be used as an adjective-- cloven hoof. That form, you might notice, is similar to clover, the plant -- both have a similar root word that means to cut, iirc.

i literally JUST made dumplings for the second time in my life two hours ago and I can confirm: Ham's method is a lot easier for newbies. If all else fails just pinch all the life AHEM air bubbles out of them to seal. Sohla's look like dumplings, mine look like golf balls HA

my family has a kellog's box like that one, but red and we've had rolled oats in it for years and years, and then one day i go for it for breakfast and someone had put cornflakes in it and i went! because cornflakes do not belong in the cornflakes box

FYI Dumplings freeze very easily. First freeze them on sheet trays and then move to a ziploc bag and they stay forever. I made a bunch of dumplings at the beginning of lockdown and now get to enjoy them whenever I feel like.

I was confused for a second why there isn't a jellatenous broth like all the other dumplings recipe tutorials I've been watching for two months now. Then I realized, she isn't making soup dumplings. I'm loosing my mind.

I've never heard of a dumping skirt. But now I want to try one. Also, what is the deal with chili crisp. I've heard about it in so many of their videos, but it is another thing I had never heard of before BA videos.

Omg, due to having a less than ideal kitchen, I can t try a lot of BA s recipes (it s a definitely a me issue) but this looks right up my alley and the ingredients doable, will definitely be trying this out!

More sohla videos. Also I would love to see a series with her and Priya, as Sohla comes off as upbeat but negative and Priya always seems very positive so they might have great chemistry.

There's this iced tea brand called Sola that I love so much. It's made of real tea and real fruit juice and comes in a pretty glass bottle. Maybe all Sola/Sohla are blessings upon this earth.
