Don't think anyone on earth without tons of experience with similar recipes could have mailed this. It's a hodge-podge of ingredients basically cooked in one pan and allowed to stew together. Tons of texture but I feel like that's way too many ingredients and not a lot of distinct flavor. It's also the sort of dish that can be made in so many different ways and is dependent on what you have. Almost no gumbo or jambalaya are identical but they can still taste the largely same and be really good even with different cooking processes. Overall I think Chris did a great job!

For such a good cook, he's terrible at knowing creole/Cajun cooking. Called what was clearly a soupy dish a jambalaya, put his trinity in a food processor, clearly didn't understand gumbo roux, and had no idea you could add file powder plus flour in the dish. How can someone who's supposed to be so well trained and versed be so off in basic knowledge of extremely famous American cuisine?

me, opening this video: how nice, listening to this human talk at a regular volume is very pleasant audio mixing guy at 0: 29: what if you heard a sound so loud it killed you instantly and broke every window in your neighborhood. would you like that? would that be something you enjoyed? I'm going to do that

I m not sure if it s because I now know that Chris is a dad but I swear he has come out of his shell so much. I always got the impression that he was standoffish and awkward, but ever since the whole chocolate thing, I swear he s one of my favourites. (Correction: they re all my favourites)

i have no problem with the profanity, really couldn't care less, but since the editors have to sensor them what if every time they need to bleep a profanity they tally it up and do something with the score for like everyones videos like a curse jar or each curse is a dozen cookies

Gumbo means okra, no okra in these gumbos. and it also helps thicken the sauce. He should ve put 1/4 bottle of Emeril s Essence in it, and that would ve covered your thyme, oregano, and paprika. But it also needs a bay leaf and a heaping tsp of paprika.

Idk if anyone will see this. but this is relating to the crab thing at the end. if u go to a good fish market that sells male and female crabs separately always choose the female even if they are slightly more expensive. they contain more meat

Soooo when Chris is blind tasting the dish and coming to conclusions to what each thing could be, is there any possibility of keeping the item bolded so pea brains like me can keep up how ok track he is?

I am not trying to be insensitive, but does this dish taste good? It s a dish that is not available where I live and with such a combination of flavours I can t really imagine what it tastes like!
