Brad and Chrissy Make Vegan Cacio e Pepe From the Home Kitchen

Brad Leone joins Chrissy Tracey at her cabin to make vegan cacio e pepe with grilled mushrooms. This recipes use cashews for the base of the sauce. Blending them with miso helps to mimic the creaminess and cheesiness of the original. And if you can't forage your own maitake and lion's mane mushrooms, store-bought is just fine

Listen, she seems really nice and I m interested to see where her recipes go- but introducing new staff in the middle of a pandemic where no natural chemistry and bonding can occur is awkward and we can all see it.
Bon Appetit has tried to tiptoe around the issue of what happened and we the viewers can see many of our favorites gone- so we know what s up. We need transparency and wrongs to be righted.
This recipe was good but it just seemed awkward. Editing is also off and the special something BA had feels gone. Even the Brad/Andy video felt awkward- as if so much remained unsaid, just hanging around them.
I hope BA can get it together again because it looks like it s taking a toll on Brad, who seems he s just trying to keep it together.

Seemed like the rapid jump cuts in recent videos were a really dismal attempt to replicate the Hunziker fast-and-loose style. This is starting to feel more natural and frankly is where it belongs. BA lost a lot of talent and shouldn't be trying to pretend everything's the same as it was. Just focus on the talent you still have.

I just love cashew based sauces. I ve used one with garlic as a white pizza sauce and it is just soooo yummy! Also, dairy cream based sauces, dressings etc always easily made me feel a bit nauseated, but that never happens with nut based creams (or other plant based creams. They re just so much lighter!

I think Chrissy is such a great addition she s vegan, she s so chill and approachable, and I can see her fitting in really well with the rest of the team. Of course it might feel a bit off with everything that has happened at BA as well as the pandemic, but give her a chance! I love her and Brad together.

I can t help but get the feeling Brad was told to cut down on taking executive actions, to let others make all the decisions and stop mansplaining. It feels like there s stuff he s excited to share, but then cuts himself short.

9: 30 In a traditional Cacio, you have eggs, you have a lot of parmesan
No! Traditional Cacio e pepe has no eggs at all, and the traditional cheese is pecorino!
It's just cheese and pepper with a bit of pasta water, thats it!

I like Chrissy. She doesn't feel too forced like some of the other new people. I was anxiously waiting for a Brad video though and it helps make it feel like old ba when brads there with her

I really liked the personality paring in this video. It was a bit awkward at times. but in the best of ways. I can t wait to see the Chrissy/Brad banter after they do a few more videos.

I think they have nice chemistry, it would fun if they did a series where she veganized his favorite meat meals and he helped out. It is odd with the social distancing though.
