How to Make a McGriddle! - Hilah Cooking
video description
Thank you kindly for these basic guidelines.
I'm so glad to be able to make these myself (especially as they are not available where I live!
They are very simple and delicious: )
The experience;
-The maple syrup we had didn't harden as desired but freezing it for a short period helped. Even though the syrup warmed back to a tacky form rather quickly, as long as incorporated to batter immediately after breaking up the pieces it did not chunk together.
I used a pancake mix with a bit of embellishment for extra flavour. While we don't have anything to form the circular shapes as the batter cooks, a standard pancake shape works lovely-
For the egg I made a fluffy rolled omelette cut into thirds. It was perfect for three people or two very hungry ones! haha

Cyrstallized pot? Wouldn't that be Crackpot? Why didn't I look up -how to make these mcgriddle pancakes- before! I loved watching the video. When you said it was a pain in the tuchkas I tbought -she's not dancin', she's in pain! - I have a friend with Parkinsons' I take care of, and he loves Mcgriddles. So I've been trying to make them for him. I'd already made one for him today that was another flop. I put syrup in the mix snd they stuck to the rings and were barely sweet. Now, I know about you and I'll be watching you more.

Does it have to be a specific type of syrup? I used the store brand one and it didn't hardened enough (I don't know if it's because I added one cup instead of just half cup and maybe it was to thick) but it just became semi solid like a very sticky paste. HELP I really want to make this.

One morning II tried to pour real maple syrup on my pancakes and it wouldn't pour because it had crystallized in the jug in my fridge. So my question is could I just use the crystals instead of boiling, etc?

Did you ever thought about making just one big batch of crystalise maple syrup so you don't have to make it every morning and then have a pain in the ass to wash it after
