Wow, I never thought I might have to give a basic History lesson to the ignorant simply because of a food video. Austin Chen is correct - the Kurds are a distinct Ethnic Group. For Centuries, they have been oppressed and victimised from all sides. By the Ottoman Empire/Turkey, Syria and Iraq - yet their culture and traditions have survived. They are the most 'moderate' of 'moderate' Muslims. They are the ONLY people fighting Daesh on the ground every single day. And Women's Brigades fight alongside men. So, might I suggest something to those who have posted ignorant, bigoted or downright racist comments here? Try reading a History book every now and then. Or if that's too much effort, educate yourself by simply Googling it. ;)

I am Turkish and we dont have a problem with kurdish ppl. we have a problem with pkk. pkk had killed 30 thound ppl in vicious terror attacks. there are a lot of ethnic groups in Turkey living in a harmony. every Kurd have the same rights as a regular turkish citizen. But pkk claims to build a country in western Turkey as Kurdistan which is never gonna happen. i dont know how it is told in your country but there is no holocoust or opression to kurdish ppl in Turkey. but of course there will be a counter strike to pkk which kills citizens even babies. so get over it. there is no kurdistan. That's TURKIYE

the oppressed becomes the opressers, never trust an kurd or a turk. look how the Christians of Iraq are treated in northern Iraq by the kurds. these steal the land from the Assyrian Christians of northern Iraq, they steal there farm land and take what they want. as an Assyrian American first generation there is an old saying in aramiac chrsit language. never trust a kurd you never know when he will stab you with an AXE in your back. don't get fooled America.

Welcome to Nashville! Kurds are, in my view, among the most highly evolved people on earth and especially in the turbulent Middle East. They are a tolerant, spirited and very peaceful people, 35+ million strong, and any community would be blessed to have them. I have considered living in Nashville, and the fact that there are 15, 000 Kurds there makes it all the more alluring to me. Cheers.

The first woman interviewed said that Kurdish cooks are unique because they don't need to measure ingredients. They get a sense for it. That's not unique. That's anyone who knows how to cook. I don't measure ingredients either because I know what I'm doing.

I love Eater, and this is yet another example of your great content. What a beautiful window into the phenomenon of new arrivals sharing their culture with us all through food. Content like this is what is best about You Tube and America in general.

I just heard from a well known Kurdish Reporter that the current Turkish Government treats the Kurds well in Turkey. Other than bombing the PKK, Turks have treated them well. They still have somethings to work on though.
