How To Eat Korean Barbecue At Home The Right Way

While Korean barbecue is a dining-out-specific experience for many, the cuisine is born out of home cooking. Today, Eater LA editor and host Matthew Kang visits the home of chef and restaurateur Nancy Silverton for a lesson in making Korean barbecue at home from Silvertons executive chef Liz Hong, and Hongs mother Jenee Kim, chef at Parks Barbecue. James: guys, this is the worst. super pretentious and trying way too hard. Korean food culture is not something you should intellectualize. I truly believe it's a social experience that shouldn't be over analyzed as if it were some sort of Avant guard culinary experience. its soul food of the east. meat on a grill that instigates conversations and drunken conversations. nothing more, nothing less. Lest's keep it simple please!

Is Matthew going to do anything other than Korean bbq? I'm sure there's more to the cuisine than bbq. It's starting to get boring now. From now on I'm going to only click on an Eater video if I see Lucus in the preview.

I was expecting an instructional video on how to marinade the meats etc. which the title lead me to assume. This is just showing the components of a korean bbq.
