Nick Solares has had countless English breakfasts in his life, but in this episode of The Meat Show, he stops by Dishoom in Kings Cross, London to expand his horizons a bit. Dishoom is a beloved Indian restaurant that draws inspiration from the old Irani cafes that used to be a staple in Bombay

So this is Akuri and Paav. served with a load of non-Irani mumbo jumbo in a pseudo-woke-desi wannabe restaurant in London? Yeah, sounds about right. I mean who serves bacon and pork sausage in an Irani cafe? Where do mushrooms fit into the varied menu of traditional Irani cafes of Mumbai? Who is forcing these 'Indian' restaurants abroad to still serve made up Indian foods like Mango curry and Tikka masala, even in the 21st century? How do Indian immigrants feel about this blatant disregard for, and adulteration of, our food culture? What does it take for someone to come out of their 'exotic desi' shell and start being authentic to one school of thought? And last of all, why am I getting so worked up about this? Guess we'll never know.

After 57 consecutive videos, Ive cracked Nick's code. Say something, then say the complete opposite after. Examples 1) Its playful, whimsical. but very serious at the same time. 2) The flavour is robust and powerful whilst also being very earthy very grounded. 3) Its viscous, almost a thick cream but it just goes down very very easily (point to throat)4) Its rustic, steeped in tradition. yet updated to be completely at home to modern tastes. 5) Theres just so many layers of complexity in its simplicity6) Really deep deep notes of flavour thats just so refreshingBOOOM IM IN

I love a good British or Scottish breakfast. Most of the time I skip lunch because there is so much in my plate. Some days I cannot stomach the beans for some reason. I love the black pudding unless its a poor product filled with a lot of binder.

Dude there's nothing Bombay in that breakfast. It's perfectly British but with lots of spices. Bombay breakfast is pretty humble. It's a vada-pav and with a cup of tea(not the English one. This one has milk, ginger and cardmom)

Love Indian food, great breakfast. nice video, and paying proper respect to the fantastic food the Indian people have given us. We must support our Indian and Pakistani food outlets, they have given us so much tasty food.

Lol whats with Indians being bewildered and calling the way he talks extravagant. it seems pretty normal to me. Critics do like to add a lil extra while describing their food, but he isn't even doing it that much

Why do the British push their food onto the back of their fork, instead of, A) using the tines to 'spear' a bite, or B) push the food onto the front of the fork, which seems the obvious thing to do?

Nice one: , I recently met a dude in London who told me 'We get the best Indian food here in London than in India'. I replied with a smile saying 'Well! we can't teach our father how to make babies': D
