As a Wisconsinite, I too thought fried cheese was an American staple. Turns out it's a midwestern thing. You go into a Georgia Dairy Queen and ask for some cheese curds, you're just asking to be disappointed by a (likely confused) cashier. BTW, for whatever reason, my brain is telling me you could probably cut out most of the prep work by using Kraft singles and ketchup. On the one hand, that sounds horrible. On the other, isn't that basically what most families slap on a home-cooked burger anyhow? Batter that sucker in cornmeal and Old Bay seasoning, probably looking at something you'll enjoy eating, but regret like. I dunno, an hour later?

I got 2 things that don't make sense to me in this video. 1. Why mozzarella cheese and not cheddar or Gouda because when I think grilled cheese and tomato soup, I do not think mozzarella. 2. If it has to be mozzarella because it can be made pliable with the hot water bath, why not marinara sauce filling, like a mozzarella stick and marinara dip. Just me? Okay that's cool! Either way it's cool but I'd probably try it with cheddar

I wish I could tell him to clip the handle into the basket on his deep fryer. I have the same one and find tipping out stuff super awkward. Found out you could clip it one night accidentally by washing it. Just squeeze in the bits of metal coming out of the handle and clip them into the bits of metal on the basket. So simple but when you see it it's like omfg. Actually LoLing. Sooooooooo want the breville polyscience hot plate.

Clifford, do you teach classes? If so, where and when? I love your hands on You Can Do This concept. Besides the delicious food ideas, I really like how you explain the whys of each step. Very clear and makes sense! Please let me know, I'd appreciate it! Thanks! Dennis

QUESTION: At 3: 50 I'm gonna guess your deepfry temp is about 380F (above average hot, but not quite smoking)? EDIT: Don't understand the negative votes. sure, it's not great on the waistline, but this is a once in a blue moon guilty pleasure, so why hate on it?

I don't like tomato soup & grilled cheese. One or the other, but both together is not tasty to me. Maybe I'll try something along the lines of chicken soup, cheese and wrap it up in a regular dumpling then fry it for a chicken noodle soup dumpling.

Very interesting! Quite the twist on soup dumplings and fried mozzarella sticks. I also like someone else's comment about using marinara sauce inside as well.

This guy & Lucas should be the only content on this site. The rest can be read on Google ( reading info & the other hosts/content is the same 'Wow' factor )

Love the recipe, would be fun to make it myself. 0: 50 now that's the only problem I have with it. That's a tablespoon, if not more, but it's no teaspoon.
