As someone that cooks as the single dad a lot, we were at the 1: 45 mark when I figured she was using the Instant Pot incorrectly. Saute on high and the beef browns quickly, evenly and conveniently. You're doing it wrong. I make all my great grandmother's pressure cooker recipes in my Instant Pots (I have two now) and the kids love them. It works perfectly and it is a lifesaver. You should do another Instant Pot pressure cooker test and get someone experienced to help. We make soups, rice pudding, rice, eggs (best easiest egg salad EVER with zero egg shell peeling, ribs, short ribs, bulgogi, pot roast, frozen chicken, pasta. the list goes on. Got rid of my slow cookers and bought more of the IP's. You have besmerched my beloved IP PC. It's all good - just know you're wrong. =)

Funny true story. My husband had his parents visiting from Europe. He borrowed my mother's pressure cooker and wanted to do chili with red kidney beans. Thank goodness I was at work. This is 30 years ago. He always knew everything aboutEverything. He put all the ingredients from the recipe into the pot. Started it and waited, and waited, and waited. You guessed right. I got home when the MESS was just about cleaned up. The cover blew off and the chilli made it to the walls and ceiling. I just purchased an instant pot because I NEVER felt safe using a pressure cooker (my mom's) ever. We celebrated our 50th anniversary. The good news was that I got the kitchen re-painted.

You just seemed super biased. Meat should be cooked in small batches not all at once! The instant pot has three heat settings for browning Low, Med, High. This was not mentioned, Has the manual been opened before using this product. The stock should have been brought up to boiling before putting the lid on the instant pot. Method for reviewing this product needs a second visit I think! As a trained chef, I agree with a lot of the comments down below! The product was not being used correctly in my view. I have three instant pots and the model of stovetop pressure cooker that was being used. Instant pot STANDS UP when under pressure to most stovetop pressure cookers.

The stove top cooker wins on speed, but electric cookers win on convenience and energy efficiency. You can pretty much set and forget with the Instant pot whereas the stovetop cooker always needs to be monitored and taken off the heat manually. I always felt a little uneasy using stovetop cookers despite all the safety features. The worst thing about multicookers is the wimpy sear function. They can get hot, but don't hold the heat once the food is dropped in. An easy hack is to heat the inner bowl on the stove, sear the meat, then transfer the bowl to the instant pot. Although I would only do this if the cooker had a stainless steel uncoated bowl.

This is a terrible comparison. The reviewer should not be used in more episodes, I've seen a couple of other videos with her and the exact same nonsense. It's like she doesn't even bother to know more about the appliances she is using and just goes in with assumptions and a bias. I've had an instant pot for a year now and I can tell you that it BEATS any traditional pressure cooker hands down. I don't really know about how it compares to other electric cookers and I'm not going to make an uneducated comparison like the host of this video.

Wow, ok, so we just ignore the explosion safety factor as a minor thing, really? I'm guessing you are Korean American. Korean culture has a lot of drinking involved with eating. What happens if you accidentally pass out and that pressure cooker is still on the stove? Hmmmm? This is hands down the best option for me, also the amount of recipes on the internet for the instant pot is huge. You can look at any ingredient in your kitchen and google it plus instant pot and get a recipe. I'm sorry but no.

How about FRYING the onions, they need higher than boiling temperature to be tender. Personally I'd fry the meat, remove, then add the onions. brown and add meat back. Then the other vegetables. You used too much oil, plus I'd have used beef dripping, lard or coconut oil. Or even olive oil. Vegetable oils are actually seed oils and are very bad when heated. free radicals are released, causing premature aging. Chef of 25 years experience.

Seriously? The maker put a ton of effort and time into this product and continues to innovate and change it to this day finding new things it could do and listening to his criticism. The least you could do is learn how to use it. It's way safer than a conventional pressure cooker consider the software and hardware failsafes put into place to prevent and dangerous buildup inline the conventional one

I have to say, one of the best videos I've seen. I saw no bias, I saw someone comparing apples with apples, starting at the same time and showing the results after the same cooking time. Exactly what a comparison should be. Then, I like that you explain the differences and the advantages of the Instant Pot. Very informative for me, a complete beginner. Thank you.

At age 71 Ive use a true pressure cooker over 50 years. Ive also tried 2 different Instant Pots. The first one broke after a couple months of use the pressure valve disintegrated. I return the second one to the store and I decided that this was just not for me. I was surprised by this review/comparison as I figured shed favor the new version which was not the case.
