Everyone in the UK: Hang on, where's the coffee? . checks wikipedia Coffee cake is any cake flavored with or intended to be eaten with coffee. British coffee cake is typically a sponge cake flavored with coffee, typically baked in a circular shape with two layers separated by coffee butter icing, which also covers the top of the cake. Walnuts are a common addition. In the United States, coffee cake generally refers to a sweet cake intended to be eaten with coffee or tea (like tea cake. The American variety is presented in a single layer, flavoured with either fruit or cinnamon, and leavened with either baking soda (or baking powder, which results in a more cake-like texture, or yeast, which results in a more bread-like texture. They may be loaf-shaped, for easy slicing or baked in a Bundt or tube pan. I wonder how this would work with a British coffee cake?

I was so excited and then you said to add nuts, so much sadness. I can eat nuts but no reasonable person does so outside of a peanut butter and jam sandwich. The sadnesses could possibly be alleviated if you were to discover and publish the recipe (or it s facsimile) for the pizza dough used by Pietro s Pizza in Milwaukee Oregon.

I just made this but only a half batch because I only had 1 apple. I subbed in some pecan pieces because I didn't have enough walnuts, and added a little half & half to my scant 1/2 cup of sour cream. Baked it up in a loaf pan and it looks and smells amazing. Can't wait to try it!

probably should always peel the skins off store bought apples. you don't know what they have been sprayed with. luckily I have apple trees that I don't spray and only peel off the bad parts cause the insects do nibble and scar them up a little since they aren't sprayed.

I love the pie-pans, casserole dishes, plates, etc. that you use. You could maybe contact the manufacturers who make these lovely things and generate some income telling us about them. I would definitely buy some of the things you feature in your videos.

Oh no. I'm going to have to make this now. I have an extreme weakness for pastries and sweet baked goods. I can resist candy all day but if you sit down pie or a crumble in front of me, it is going to disappear at a shockingly rapid rate.

Put the cores into a pot and cook the hell outta them, and peeling if you so choose. Add some butter, cinnamon, water, punch of salt, brown sugar, then strain put back in pot let cool until thickish, there some amazing sauce for ice cream etc.

Ok - I made it and it is great! Used 9x9 metal pan, 350F conventional for 50-55min. Only had salted butter, so only added the bit in the dry mix. Noticed a bit-o-salt in bottom corner due to greasing the pan, but otherwise just fine. thx!

Looks delicious! On allrecipes. com the recipe shows 2 tsp unsalted butter under the dry ingredients list, I m assuming this should be for the crumble mix. But is 2 tsp correct? It looks like a lot more on the video. Is it maybe 2 tbsp?
