Learn how to make Horchata Nandi the Bull: To all the bozos whose comments begin with, Um, _Im_ Mexican and this isnt how _we_ do it. Im not Mexican but I do know how to read and do research. Mexican cookbook authors and food bloggers who are Mexican and live in, or are from, Mexico disagree with you. Yes, evaporated and/or condensed milk is used, but not always, and it isnt inauthentic to not use them. Just because you saw people you know make horchata that way, doesnt make it a universal reality. Your personal nationality doesnt automatically give you culinary authority. Please open your eyes to your own food culture.

Just put everything into a mason jar to marinate over night. Used ground cinnamon instead and was only able to fit 3 cups of water in. I'll keep ya'll updated. Update1: Just found out I can make a rice pudding with the left over rice powder. Uddate2: Finished it out and it's great. It's refreshing just like he said, not to sweet, and tastes like an excellent lite sweet rice/almond milk. I think I'm going to make the left over rice powder (from straining) into rice pudding.

As a white dude that grew up in Texas -- let me assure all you fellow WASPs that this stuff is totally off the chain. Incredible. Been buying it at gas station taquerias for years. Make it. Buy it. Imbibe it, fellow dikensian named freaks.

I want to try the mexican version. The salvadorean version is made with the seeds of a fruit called morro or jicaro, it's nutty and sweetIt's blended with sesame seed, peanuts, cinnamon and sugar. I hope you taste it some day chef John

can you do a recipe for boza? it's a turkish fermented drink made from wheat, which used to be served as an alcoholic beverage substitute in the ottoman days. it's consumed non-alcoholic mostly these days, though. it's awesome and sweet

i riffed and did 1 cup oats instead of rice just to see what would happen and it came out with a much heavier mouthfeel and creamier than other horchata ive had. it aint traditional but it worked out really nice

I have made Horchata before but it was from a recipe that was a lot harder. I love Horchata and I am going to make your recipe soon. It is soooo much quicker and easier. Thanks

I remember an energy drink company made one of their energy drinks this flavor. While it tasted ok, it wasn't one of the best flavors they've had. The real thing probably tastes a lot better.

Paint Strainer bags are cheaper than the nut milk ones, and easier to get for many people as they are sold at any hardware store. We're excited to try this
