its the San Francisco Treat because the Golden Grain Pasta Company was founded in San Francisco. Rice a roni was developed in 1958 I have never forgotten, my late sister in law, enjoyed cooking and once for a Mexican dinner, she made Spanish rice, and she was not happy with it, she said she was going to experiment with it before her dinner the next evening, and I was there and the Spanish rice was just right. I told her later you did fix it, and she told me, no it was dumped, what you ate was Spanish Rice a Roni LOL

Chef John you should do a Cuban beef braise/roast dish called Boliche, most of what you'll find is stuffed ignore that, its pressure cooked in a lime or sour orange sauce. It's delicious, usually served with plantains maduros or tostones, white rice and black beans, and some kind of salad. i think your viewers would enjoy this traditional cuban dish. it's usually made as a center piece for a family get together

Is there a place you prefer for posting recipe requests? I'd LOVE to have your take on a kind of lemon-y/vinegar-y potato salad they serve with schnitzels in pretty much every pub/restaurant in Vienna. I tasted it and fell in love with the combination But I can't find a decent recipe that recreates the memory I have of the dish.

I've made a dish like this by snapping spaghetti into little pieces. For some reason breaking those little pieces off always hurt like Hades. The broken end is stiff and usually scraped my index finger. Plus it takes a while break enough for the recipe. I guess its punishment for forgetting to buy orzo.

I often wonder if you eat the food at the end. sometimes i see bite marks. Today I could see your reflection in the handle of the spoon. Blue shirt. Thank you for your excellent recipes. Your mashed potatoes are perfect. I've made your buttermilk fried chicken and a few other things.

I just made the rice a roni ( never had it because its not sold in the Netherlands) and served it with bbq turkish kebab( also your recipe) and some tzazik ( my husbands' own recipe) It was delightful, thanks I was looking for an other sidedish for the kebab other than bread.

Orzo is NOT the same as melon seed pasta; orzo means Barley in Italian, and is so named because it is the shape of a barley kernel with the husk still on. Melon seed pasta is Seme di Melone in Italian, and is so named because it is the shape of a melon seed.

This is quite similar to a Colombian rice recipe. I tried this one and it was an instant success. So simple and easy and great tasting. I used chicken fat instead of butter and thyme instead of parsley. Next time I'll try with macaroni, just to experiment.
