These drumstick sundae jars are just like that ice cream truck Drumstick cones from childhood, only ten times better, since we get to use better ingredients, and more of them. Plus, you'll be able to enjoy the best partthe chocolate shell coating studded with peanutsin every bite.

This makes me miss Schwan's. They would deliver to my Granny Mac in Mt Vernon, MO. We would have Sunday dinner at her house and all of us kids got drumsticks and Schwan's had the best orange push pops too. Great memories. My family and I will definitely be making these.

Pencil lead is made of graphite and clay, and is harmless. I know this because I was stabbed with a pencil decades ago, and the tip is still stuck in my flesh. It caused no poisoning because it's not poisonous, so don't worry about it.

This is amazing! Thank you.
Pro tip: the best bite of the drumstick is the chocolate filled pointy tip. I'm going to make these with the kids, but see if I can fill the point up with chocolate. And sprinkles!
Thank you John

My easy workaround is to keep a supply of freshly roasted red skin peanuts, some crumbled sugar cones and some chocolate syrup in the pantry. I don’t have a lot of extra space in the freezer so this works for me.

Thank you, Chef! I like hand-held food, but this was a great inspiration to temper some dark chocolates and crush some roasted, salted peanuts for the next time we're having an ice cream cones.

This is great! I will definitely try making this for company. I think I'll submerge/fill the cone horn in chocolate too, similar(ish) to a drumstick. Maybe use other types of ice cream, too!

My technique whenever I coat things in chocolate is to clean the bowl by stirring peanuts to pick up the excess chocolate. Remove onto parchment. Great snack or yogurt topping.

Why would chef John put chocolate in the tip of the cone. It's not a real nutty buddy cone where the ice cream can melt out the bottom, and he already made chocolate discs.

Hi there foodwishes!
long time viewer here.
Do you have another pasta salad that I can use to feed some vitamins to my son
Any help would be highly appreciated: )

You can find snacks that are basically just the end of icecream cones (with the chocolate inside) in some places. Those would be perfect to use for something like this.

Chef John, Please give us recipes for a nice dinner or weekday meal. You seem to have lost your way with all these odd side items lately. Back to something please.

Not a treat that I personally care for but I think if you are going to this amount of work I would drizzle some chocolate inside the cone tip.

These look tasty, but waffle cones are much better, better than even sugar cones, also cashews or pistachios instead of peanuts are great!
reply

Looks awesome. I feel the tip of the cone needs to have a solid piece of chocolate in it, or else it might be missing the best part of the cone

When you hear that tune, you know the one, and to quote Eddie M: Mommmm! Gimme some money!
Yeah. That to these! Yum Yum!

these would also look very sophisticated without the little jars but you'd have to build them with your hands in a fridge.
