While in Australia, Gordon visited the most amazing cheesemaker in Tasmania who's making cheese illegally in his home! After tasting the local cheeses, Gordon decided to whip up his take on the classic grilled cheese sandwich complete with homemade kimchi. No one will call you an idiot sandwich after making this! itsmeagain: To use cheese this thick I would ve left it open-face to allow for better heat distribution before closing the sandwich, on a slightly better controlled heat source, like an oven. It works perfectly every time & I load mine with tomatoes & onions

Okay sure every chef has his ups and downs sometimes, but this is literally GRILLED CHEESE. How do you mess up something so simple?
1. Make sandwich.
2. Put on pan with oil until ready.
He managed to make a sandwich but he utterly failed at the second point. Too high flame, too much oil, and not long enough on the pan.
Please don't forget Gordon that it doesn't matter how long your video is. People don't care if it's 5 or 10 mins as long as it's done RIGHT.

That method is just wack.
Notice how they conveniently show almost no interior because it didn't melt at all. If you want a grilled cheese with a thick bread slice and/or a type of cheese that doesn't melt easily, you need to first fry the slices individually in a pan, finish the cheese off in the broiler, and then assemble them into a sandwich. That's how I've always done it. If you just stick it all in a burning pan for 30 seconds no wonder it ends up raw.

Some times flavor isn't worth the enjoyment of a real mouth watering ooey gooey melt in your mouth grilled cheese sandwich. Bread being crisp ( Not Burnt ) most importantly, Cheese being a warm hug of melted love oozing from between the bread sending you off to heaven after the first bite. Unlike the spicy bite of still hard cheese between burnt pieces of dry bread. Great Video, Bad Sandwich (0. o) Just saying Chef, To each their own.

you can tell he was disappointed with the end result. the bread being way too thick plus the pan being way too hot resulted in the outside of the bread cooking way too fast. he didnt want to embarrass himself and have burnt bread so he settled for unmelted cheese instead. im surprised he even uploaded this lmao

y'all complaining about the cheese not melting but have you ever seen what happens to a completely melted hard cheese? yeah, that's right, it gets weird! if you want to make grilled cheese with hard cheeses, just heating the cheese enough for it to be very soft but not molten is enough and very tasty.

Lol Gordan gonna get roasted for his NOT grilled cheese. He really bungled it with those hardass non melty cheeses paired with a super hot fire that cooked the bread too quick. And as usual he sounds like a breathless soap opera actress trying to record a romance scene.

This might be delicious BUT. Wouldn't say it counts as grilled cheese sandwich. Maybe you could call it a Ramsay Cheese Sandwich or something. But I feel as an American I have veto power over what gets called grilled cheese. Not saying we invented but we perfected it.

Using aged cheese doesn't make a good grilled cheese in my opinion. It is way harder to melt and the cheese has a verry high chance to split because of the low moisture. I appreciate the effort Gordon but I'm gonna stick to using gouda in my grilled cheese.

Should rename it to Ultimate Cheese Melt. Grilled Cheese Sandwich only has three ingredients, cheese, bread and butter (or maybe even mayo) to crisp the bread. You add anything else to the interior of it and it becomes a Melt.
