Medovik - Russian Honey Cake consists of thin layers of honey cake filled with sour cream frosting that are simply delicious and melts in your mouth. No wonder why Empress Elizabeth Alexeievna fall in love with it from the first bite. Makes about 12-14 servings Honey Cake Layers 4 1/4 cups (550g) all purpose flour, sifted 1/2 cup (113g) butter 1/3 cup (120g) honey 2/3 cup (135g) sugar 1 tsp (6g) baking soda 1/2 tsp (3g) salt 1 tsp (5g) vanilla extract 3 eggs Sour Cream Frosting 2 cups (500g) sour cream, 25% fat 2/3 cup (80g) powdered sugar 2 tbsp (40g) honey 1 tsp (5g) vanilla extract 2 cups (500g, whipping cream 35% fat, chilled For decorating leftover cuts, turned into crumbs whipped cream

Wow lovely one, Ella Cake made out of dough I guess refrigerating it overnight causes the baked cake cracker to soften? I love the recipe--it did not seem too sweet and the sour cream will add a nice tang. Great decorations too. Very simple and elegant. My daughter said it was a lovely cake

This is crazy, yesterday I baked Medovik for the first time, and while I was eating it now, you posted video. We have very similar recipe, simple but exquisite flavours.

I want to ask you, in hot liquid you added eggs or after cooler state you add eggs? My english is not very good I hope you understand my lines.

Superbe i want to try. I have a question is it the same cream on top? Are you refrigerating it overnight as well before piping it on top
