When Dheeradon Dissara - winner of Drinks Tube s Search For a Cocktail Star - came to London he simply had to share his Tom Kha Kai, or Thai Chicken Soup recipe with us. Tasty chicken thighs and mushrooms poached in coconut milk with lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves and chillis. Really delicious Thai food finished with a squeeze of lime and garnished with fresh coriander. Why pay for a takeaway when you can wow your friends at home with this simple authentic dish? To see Dheeradon show Jamie how to make a Lemongrass Mojito

This looks so good. Definitely going to make it and I'll tell you how I liked it after. I'd probably put in more vegetables, even though it might not be as authentic. But I love shiitake mushrooms for example and I'd like to put them in there as well. Thanks for sharing. It seems much simpler and more authentic than when looking up all the 'fancy' recipes online that have a million ingredients.

This is what I wanna see more on Youtube, authentic Thai cooking in English. As a Thai in the US, I'm so pissed and sad when seeing our recipe abusively cooked confidently by those Americans who don't know any shit about Thai cooking. However, viewers trust them because they're very confident in what they do, even it's not right.

thank you for this recipe, it's my favorite thai soup, i had no idea it's so easy to make. One question: I cannot find galangal, can I replace it with ginger? Definitely it would be great to have more thai recipes, so please more Dheeradon Dissara on foodtube! :)

What a delicious looking soup! Unfortunately where I live it's quite difficult to get some of these ingredients. I get that I can recplace the galangal with ginger, but what can I use as a substitute for the Kaffir lime leaves? Maybe someone can help me on this!

Can I replace fresh galangal root with fresh ginger root or is it better to use powdered galangal (or powdered galangal + fresh ginger? Sadly, where I live it is not possible to buy fresh galangal, so I'm looking for a substitute.

Wouldn't it be better to put the chili in while the soup is cooking (for at least 2-3 minutes? Don't you get a much better flavor out of it when you do it like that?

This is my FAVORITE soup! I'm so happy that this was in my subscription feed! It's a little different than how I've made it before so I'm definitely going to try it

Thanks for the awesome recipe! Juste one question: is it better if we let the broth simmer a little bit longer than you did before putting the chicken? Thanks again!
