Today I continue my FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT recipe series with an easy delicious Tres Leches Cake! You can use the boxed cake mix of your choice or make sponge cake from scratch, but the milk syrup I use is perfect for this cake and I hope you give it a try. I ve been cheating with boxed mixes for a while. I use the same brand you used for my tres leches cake. I doctored by adding a fourth egg as you did. Now my cheat changes. I added a box of instant vanilla pudding, used milk instead of water, and used melted butter instead of oil. For me it makes the cake richer whilst still being spongy enough to absorb. Funny enough, I scratch bake frequently and this is the recipe I get asked for the most. Perhaps my scratch baking isn t up to snuff or peeps do not want a three hour process. I hope it s the latter.

I love tres leches cake, you re killing me! I started eating under 20g net carbs a day a couple weeks back. is there any chance you could think about featuring a meal/dish that is keto-friendly and delicious? Cheese, meat, eggs, and lots of fats are fine. Green leafy vegetables are okay. Other vegetables stack up the carbs quickly and any sugar/grains are out. I d certainly appreciate seeing a suggestion from these requirements! :)

Hi, i had asked you if it will go with caramel sauce topping. But i didn't get any response from you. I made the cake exactly your way and did add the caramel sauce topping. It was a hit in the party everyone loved. Everyone sensed the difference in the milk taste, but couldn't guess the ingredients. It was really good. Thank you for the recipe. God bless you

WOW! My family LOVES, tres leche's cake! Wondering if there's any other dessert type that uses the 3 types milk, etc? Adding the strawberries are sure to make it even more delicious, especially in spring & summer! Definitely will make this in about 3-4 weeks. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful recipe. Have a beautiful weekend.

Lol, you mentioning dropping cakes reminds me of back when I was little and me, my sis and my mom made a pineapple upside down cake and my mom, when trying to flip it out the pan, dropped it out right on the table and it broke and so we ate cake off the table that day! Anywho I will have to try this recipe out, it looks fantastic!

I loved your Recipe for Tres Leches Cake. It looks like it can also be a Romantic Cake for Valentine's Day the way you placed the Strawberries on each side of the cake. I have a question for you. I have never made this Cake before but I do Love it! Can it be kept in the freezer for the left over cake, and how long? God bless!

I tried your recipe but i accidentally added the vanilla extract while it was on the heat and instead of cinnamon I added sifted cinnamon apple oatmeal to just get the cinnamonish flavor. you could taste the oatmeal and it probably would be better without it, but it came out great! thanks for the video.

Too soggy. The texture of the cake. If you like soggy then this recipe is good. I prefer the texture of the sponge cause it it gives you a chewier firmer texture that holds up to the milk. Not knocking the shortcuts just letting people know the difference. Your videos are awesome and easy to follow

So I made this for Easter today and it was delicious. I did use some of the milk for my tea and it was yummy. I will be making this again. The only thing that I did different while warming all the milks was adding allspice balls. I love the spice it gives arroz con leche. Thank you so much for sharing.

Oh, as a side note, last year I did this for a Christmas party potluck. I used my homemade eggnog, evaporated milk, and condensed milk. Please note my egg nog is a VERY adult version! It was magnificent and magical! A whole different spin of the cake that highlighted the Christmas season.
