Here is another way to achieve a delicious carne guisada. This recipe is using my good ol' crock pot. I also have a stove top recipe. The link is below. This Tex Mex beef stew is one of my favorite recipes for making tacos using my Soft Flour Tortilla Recipe. It's perfect for parties, potlucks and dinner. INGREDIENTS 3 lbs boneless chuck roast 1 cup water 2 beef bullion cubes 3 to 5 Roma tomatoes or 1 cup crushed tomatoes 1 small onion (diced) 3 to 4 cloves of fresh garlic 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1 1/2 tsp onion powder 2 tsp ground cumin salt and pepper to taste SLURRY - 1/2 cup cold water & 6 tbls flour Crock Pot (I used a 4. 5 QT Crock Pot) SET TO HIGH - 5 1/2 to 6 hrs SET TO LOW - 8 1/2 to 12 hrs

another delicious recipe i had made just yesterday was with a 3 lbs pound of pork shoulder roast, i used a can of diced tomatoes with green chilies, the seasonings were cumin, zatarain's blackening seasoning, chicago steak seasoning, morton's garlic salt, old bay seasoning, i slowly cooked the seasoned meat in wesson's veggie oil like i put a tablespoon of oil in a big pot (cooked it until it was no longer pink, then i slivered up some onions, green peppers, put them in the pot with the tomatoes, let it cook for 10 minutes until the green peppers were somewhat tender, then i added taco seasoning and cornstarch slurry. god i love making guisadas soo much

I started making my own flour tortillas a few months ago, using your recipe. They're perfect. I just tried this carne guisada recipe last night, and I was shocked. It took me right back to my childhood, growing up in South Texas. Being in the military, I can't find carne guisada ANYWHERE, and even homemade flour tortillas are rare most places. They're some of my favorite things to eat, and now I can have them whenever i want! I can't wait to try more of your recipes. They taste great and your videos are super easy to follow!

I moved from South Texas about 4 years ago to the Virgin Islands then to Florida, and you can t find carne guisada in restaurants as you can imagine. It is my favorite! I tried out family recipes, and I just wasn t 100% satisfied. I initially tried out your other skillet recipe, and it is delicious. I tried your crock pot recipe yesterday, and it was delicious as well! Felt like I was back home eating it at my favorite restaurant! Great job! Thanks for sharing!

Yum! My friend is from Austin. She said she never new what a burrito was until she came here to California. She knew tacos, though. And my mom was born in New Mexico and raised in El Paso. All her children including me were born here California. I remember my mom would offer friends tacos. I would think to myself that we did not have tacos. What she actually was offering was a homemade flour tortilla with whatever filling we had. Nice memories.

I am making this today. Thank you for all your hard work and your generous heart. After living in San Antonio for 24 yrs then moving back to a very small North Texas town where not only your local pastor but also the police, the principal, any business all know your parents and whole family history. But trying to get really great Asada in this small town is impossible. Thank you for sharing this its gonna be heavenly. Hugs from Texas

Love your videos and can tell by your pronunciation of certain items you're partially hispanic, which got me to wondering how you pronounce gochujang(probably much different than I do! Perhaps you could pronounce it at the beginning or end of your future videos to enlighten us but hers of foreign words. keep putting them out and good luck in any future endeavors, love your videos!

The Carne Guisada was a big hit at the Christmas Party we went to. Very easy to make, the only change i made to recipe was i added a Chopped Fresh Jalapeno and a dash of Red Pepper Flakes - gave it the perfect amount of heat. Served it with the small Guerrero Taqueria Style corn tortillas, cilantro/onions, and a red salsa. Everyone loved it! Thanks for posting this great recipe!

Hi! Been a fan for past few months. Thanks for sharing your recipes with the world. I am new to cooking and have been doing most of my cooking with the instant pot because of its speed and the tenderness of the meat recipes. Have you tried making this with instant pot? If so, manual high pressure for how long and do we follow it up with a natural release or quick release?

I have been making your recipes for at least a year now, today I made the layered chicken enchilada bake and tomorrow morning I'm throwing this into the crockpot before work! My family devoured and I mean DEVOURED the enchiladas. I also made your rice with it. You're the reason I know how to make rice now! I appreciate you so much!

Here is a secret. just use 1 tiny roma tomato and 1 onion. Too much tomato takes away from the awesome savory beef flavor of the carne. It took me a while to figure out how the taco places here in Texas make it. Bell pepper and tomatoes are the enemies of carne guisada. It's a savory dish not sweet. This time less is more!
