Today I am using one can of store bought biscuit dough 2 ways. I am making stove top biscuits and donuts. Both are tasty treats. The stove top biscuits seems to be trending on Tiktok so I decided to give you details so that you can achieve crispy golden brown exterior and evenly cooked center. INGREDIENTS 16. 3 oz (462 g) canned biscuit dough (Pilsbury Grand Flaky biscuits) (Stove Top Biscuits) 4 Grand biscuits 3 Tbsp (42g) unsalted butter 8 to 9 cast iron skillet or Non stick pan with a lid INGREDIENTS (Donuts) 4 Grand biscuits 1/3 cup (67 g) sugar 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon cooking oil for frying Gerard: Canned biscuit? In the winters of early 50s my grandmother cooked homemade biscuits on top of the pot-bellied stove in the living room 'cause that was the only heat in the house and there wasn't any electricity or gas, coal oil lamps for light. On a cold snowy winter night she slathered them with butter we had churned that very day and put home canned peaches over top. OMG! That was high eatin'. Most times it was all we had to eat that night. City folk don't know nuthin bout getin by.

Them canned biscuits sure seem to have a lot of uses, I seen somebody make monkey bread in a bunt cake pan here a while back. I remember when I was a kid, Mom used to make real donuts and put the sugar and cinnamon in a brown paper bag, put the donuts in with and let us kids shake the bag, then eat fresh donuts. I don't think you could even find paper sacks like that now days. Going to try frying biscuits, I just happen to have some in the fridge. Good video, thanks.

You and some of your readers may have to consider investing in an Air Fryer which makes perfect biscuits in many minutes fewer WITHOUT using any additional fats. I'm using a convection oven / toaster, Instant Pot, Air Fryer for most if not all of my kitchen. No temperature problems, no additional fats. I haven't used my oven for years now. A small investment will help you cook healthier for your family.

Fried biscuits are nothing new. People have been making them in cast iron pans for more than 50 years. They are very yummy! My grandmother used to make these and my dad and I would put butter and molasses on the inside! Biscuits and molasses are quite popular here in Maine. Thumbs up for biscuits and molasses! :-)

My g-ma used to make donuts from biscuit dough for me when I was a child. I had forgotten about them until recently when I found some blueberry biscuit dough that comes with a small container of glaze. They are delicious made into donuts and my kids loved them.

I think folks might be very interested in your cooking utensils etc. I think the Chinese buffets deep fry these biscuits and roll in plain sugar. Everyone seems to love those. I think they may fry them on peanut oil. This is just a guess but likely correct.

The biscuits in an iron skillet reminded me of my late uncle's cowboy biscuits, he'd make flour tortilla dough and cut them into biscuits and cook them in an iron skillet. It was camping food, but he'd make them at home too for a treat with butter and jam.

Two great recipes. We made the biscuits in a cast iron skillet while camping when I was younger. my grandma always just kept a lid on them and watch them. Thanks again for sharing your love of food and recipes!

Perfect timing for me. I am in a hotel waiting for escrow to close on my new house. My hotel room has a kitchen but no oven. I have been wanting biscuits so will definitely try the stovetop method. Thanks.

Looks great. First and only time I ever had doughnuts like this was a neighbor made them around 45 years ago. Looks like I'll need to pick up some canned biscuits next store run.
