Today I am cooking at home and making a simple recipe for steak and eggs. You can season how you like and cook your eggs to preference. Ingredients 1 lb (454 g) boneless ribeye steak 2 Tbsp (30 ml) cooking oil salt and pepper to preference 1 lb (454 g) parboiled potatoes 4 oz (113. 5 g) grape tomatoes 1/4 cup (60 ml) cooking oil season potatoes to preference 2 large eggs 1 Tbsp (14 g) butter (for cooking eggs) food: Never seen this combination before, is this an American thing? Wish I'd known about this earlier, would have made it for my husband today! Thanks for posting!

Interesting, I will try this. I usually salt with Kosher salt and let the steak sit for 10 to 20 minutes, then brush off the salt. I heat the pan to smoking as you do and cook 2 minutes on a side (steak thickness may account for this difference. I then set the pan and steak aside for 15 minutes to finish cooking in the residual heat and rest, no oven time. The results are much the same. That is a wonderfully seasoned cast iron pan and a lovely meal!

I was using grape seed oil, and even when I didn t use a lot, my stomach would hurt afterward and sometimes my husband too. Switched to avocado oil and don t have that anymore. I wonder if that s common or not?
Anyway, beautiful meal! Thanks for sharing!

Funny story. My kid's thought me and their dad's body was replaced with aliens. Because we like steak and eggs. Who knows the movie body snatcher. Hehehe. My kid's wasn't suppose to watch certain movies when they we're young but they did.
