Today I am cooking at home and making easy puffy tacos. This is one of my favorite ways to make tacos. You can fill and top puffy tacos with the ground, stewed or shredded meats of your choice. Today I used taco seasoned ground turkey. Ingredients 2 cups (265 g) instant corn flour for masa 3/4 tsp fine salt 1 1/2 cups (354 ml) warm to hot water TACO MEAT 1 lb (454 g) lean ground beef (I used 85/15) 1 Tbsp chili powder 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp garlic powder 1 Tbsp dried minced onion 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp ground cumin 1 beef bouillon cube (or chicken bouillon) 1 Tbsp tomato paste 1 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar 1/2 tsp sugar

I think this is the way my friend's mother used to make them when I was in grade school. never could figure out how they came out that way, but I loved them; however, this is too much work for this cowgirl: -)
EDIT: Now that I think about it, I could probably skip making my own tortillas and just deep fry the flour ones from the store, right?

My husband thanks you a million times over! In addition to the puffy taco, he can now have the Monterey House puff tostada that he loves. We moved from Houston 15 years ago and he's homesick!

Looks Delicious! And I have never been offended by your enjoyment of your food. I am offended by the people who bring it up! Blessings
