Today I am going in-depth on why your flour tortillas are not puffing up. I will also explain tips for achieving a soft and tender flour tortilla. I hope this video helps and answers some of your questions. Cynthia: Who has Tortillas that last longer than 24 hours? They are gone almost as fast as I make them. Thanks for a written recipe I could never figure out a written recipe for my daughter's. I make them by feel and they learn differently and want a written recipe. Thank you.

I have a question. I m curious to know what is the benefit of adding baking powder as one of the ingredients? When my mom made tortillas de harina I know she added baking powder. Now that I make them I don t use baking powder and they come out soft and they puff up beautifully and took me a long time to get to that point. The only difference I can see physically is that my moms came out looking more white which my sisters always remember. Thanks for your videos.

Great video! I have been getting good results, but I think sometimes moisture could be better. But they taste great and are somewhat soft. So I just keep practicing. I make a small batch of 10-12 and put them in a gallon ziplock in the fridge. Works for me. I just like the taste so much more than store-bought! It's been a fun part of my kitchen routine!

Great tips. Any homemade bread/tortilla recipe doesn t have additives and preservatives. It won t stay fresh for long. True that fats can act as a preservative. I made a batch using bacon fat and boy were they good. I noticed a long time ago that whole fat milk stays fresh longer than non-fat or even 1%. Love your detail.

Practice, Practice, practice. I start with your recipe, took a little bit, but I tweaked it took out the water and started using milk. But if it wasn't for you. I would never have the confidence to do it! Thank you.

I should share this video with my mother but at nearly 80, she doesn't make tortillas anymore. The hard rubbery burnt tortillas were never edible. But I do learn so much from you, I will break the cycle.

Hi. My tortillas puff up but they dont turn out soft. Also the restaurants around here in Corpus Christi make the tortillas fluffy. How do you get that texture?

I need to try again. I think I was powdering them too much because they were coming out like tostadas. Okay girl. Your giving me hope. Let s see what happens!

How long on each side? My tortillas have small air bubbles and they burn on the air bubbles before they cook fully. Also my tortillas get really hard as well

My tortilla's don't last 24 hours, it's crack to me! I live in Denver where it's dry so they are not perfect. I'll add more water and do the resting!
