Today I am making homemade chicken and dressing with a chicken gravy from scratch. This is dinner and it's gonna be good! Ingredients 3 lbs bone-in chicken pieces 2 1/2 liters water 1/2 small onion 1 celery stick 1 medium carrot 4 to 6 cloves of garlic 1 dried bay leaf 1 1/2 to 2 tsp poultry seasoning 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper 1 Tbsp chicken bouillon powder cook and shred chicken then reserve half for the dressing and half for the gravy CORNBREAD 1 cup yellow cornmeal 1/2 cup self-rising flour 1 Tbsp sugar (optional) 1 tsp chicken bouillon powder 1 large egg 3 Tbsp butter (softened) 3/4 cup milk buttered 8 x 12 baking dish GRAVY 3 Tbsp cooking oil 1/3 cup all-purpose flour 4 cups low sodium chicken broth 1 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon powder half of the cooked chicken salt and pepper to taste DRESSING crumbled pan of cornbread half of the cooked chicken (chopped) 11 oz cream of chicken condensed soup 2 cups chicken broth 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped) 3 Tbsp butter (for saute) 1/2 small onion (sauteed) 1/2 green bell pepper (sauteed) 1 celery stick (sauteed) salt and seasoning to taste Joe: We had family reunions for years on Thanksgiving and there would be 10 dressings in the food line. You always wanted your moms dressing. My mom would tell us which dressing was hers. I sure miss that dressing. Good video.

I had to laugh a little at this video because I do something similar. I LOVE pumpkin pie with whipped cream on the top. And somewhere in the off season I'll bake one (sometimes two lol) cause I just gotta have it! You crack me up Angelina! Sometimes we just gotta have what we just gotta have, right lol! Looked delish, I'm sure you and your fam enjoyed it! Have a great weekend!

I love chicken and dressing. It reminds me of my gramma. She made the best. A TON of eggs and chicken livers in the dressing. She always roasted a capon instead of a turkey. Everything was always moist and delicious.

Your recipes and videos are so satisfying to me! You scrape the bowls of your ingredients and clearly show that these videos capture your actual cooking for your family. Everything you make I want to eat, so thank you!

I used to cook a big holiday dinner around Sept, Oct. couldn t wait for that cornbread dressing and scalloped potatoes. Kids are all grown and gone, so don t do it now. Now I m hungry for dressing.

That chicken in the gravy, which goes on top of the dressing, MAKES this dish! That looks so delicious. I ve never seen the chicken and gravy on top. I m converted to YOUR way forever!

Would you be able to substitute the condensed soup with gravy? They seem to have a similar consistency, and gravy would be more appropriate in a holiday meal lol

This is exactly how my family makes dressing. We eat it as a side dish with other main dishes for the holidays. Granted, we cook it a crap load year round too

My husband grandma taught me how to cook this. Just the same as you. Except she adds more of stuffing mix like your sister does lol still so yummy
