During my trip to Malaysia, this was definitely one of the best meals, if not one of the best meals of my life Itik Salai Masthar - When I visited Kuala Lumpur, I reached out on social media asking where to eat the best Malaysian food. A few of your recommended a restaurant known as Itik Salai Masthar, famous for their Malaysian style smoked duck curry. The display of ducks hanging over the grill was enough to force me to go straight to the restaurant without even thinking about it. We got there early in order to film some of the ducks before they opened - and Im glad we arrived early because they were all so nice and showed us the entire process of how they make the duck curry. The ducks and meats are smoked, then chopped up into bite sized pieces, then cooked in a spicy coconut milk curry called Masak Lemak Cili Padi. One of the key herbal ingredients is turmeric leaf. If youre looking for some of the best Malaysian food in Kuala Lumpur (its actually just outside of KL, go straight to Itik Salai Masthar, it will blow your taste buds

Ok I just visited this place. The gravy is great - fresh coconut. The duck however was too bony such that I couldnt taste much meat and there was just too little smoke. The raw veg were a nice touch. The curry on the rice was delicious. If only they gave us premium duck breast with the gravy that would be perfect

Dont go here during Ramadhan. The lady today was extremely rude when I tried to buy some food at 2. 30pm, and even rudely asked if I was fasting or not. I waited there for some time, but she refused to sell me anything. Its sad to see they are becoming arrogant after achieving fame.

A single video on this specific restaurant is a wise idea Mark. used to go to this place almost every week when i was studying around Kajang and still comes down from Kuala Lumpur just to devour this delicious food or as you say life changing malaysian food: )

Not to disrespect any culture but why use a spoon only to put the food on your rice and then go with the hand? Seems like if you have a spoon you may be better off getting more broth/curry in your bites by using it?

If you would like to try a different version of masak lemak salai dishes you need to come to Rembau in Negeri Sembilan, one of the states in Malaysia that prominently known for its masak lemak salai.

Alangkah cantik kalau mereka jaga kebersihan di tempat mereka grill makanan. Dalam penyediaan makanan kebersihan sangat penting. Nanti bila ada orang yg kena keracunan maka perniagaan akan terganggu.
