24 Hours Best French Food: SUBSCRIBE for more: In this video we’re trying the oldest and most iconic restaurants in Paris, France! We’ll work our way down through history, uncovering these true historical institutions in Paris and trying their food. But the question is, are they purely tourist traps, or do they still serve amazing French food Le Train Bleu (1901) - This restaurant located in the train station is known to be one of the most beautiful restaurants in Paris! I ordered their Pté en crote, Roast Leg of Lamb, and Crpes Suzette for dessert. The entire experience was phenomenal. Total price - 125. 50 Le Dme Café (1898) - Next up, this restaurant was one of the favorites on Anthony Bourdain. I tried their Rockfish Soup, the massive cold seafood Le Dme Platter, Sole Meunière, and Napoléon Mille-feuille for dessert. Again, a legendary place, and the food and service were both phenomenal. Total price - 394. 50 for 3 people Bofinger (1864) - You can’t go to Paris without trying Bofinger, loved by tourists and locals alike. I tried their Endives and Clementines Salad, and the massive Choucroute Garnie (Bofinger’s Signature Sauerkraut) for main course. Total price - 58. 90 L'Escargot Montorgueil (1832) - - One of the most famous or infamous French foods are escargot, snails, and this is a historical restaurant in Paris to try them. I had their XXL Snails, Frog Legs, and Duck Confit. Total price - 138. 00 Patisserie Stohrer (1730) - Dating back to 1730, Patisserie Stohrer is the oldest bakery in Paris, and I had their Rum Baba and Chocolate Éclair, plus a few other things I didn’t show on camera. Total price - 20. 50 Le Procope (1686) - The oldest cafe and no restaurants in Paris is Le Procope, where Napoleon once left his hat as collateral for not paying for his meal. I had the French Onion Soup, Calf’s Head like in 1686, and the Coq au Vin. I was worried this place might be a total tourist trap, but to my surprise, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was incredible. Total price - 89. 10 Finally, I have to mention La Tour d'Argent, the actual oldest restaurant in Paris, but unfortunately they don’t allow any filming. overrated yourself one poor ignorant american or somebody like that. first if you want to be a international chef, you have to go to the finest cuisine school and you learn all the basics for traditional cuisine making and a lot of cuisine terms (words)are in french because they have invented the basics like the sauces the pastries meat cooking with sauces etc. like to become a baker and pastries maker you have to go to special school and get you diplom: ain t no joke and of course ingredients are not the same good quality everythings. i dont know why they still compare french cuisine to us food even food street etc dont forget a lot of products are forbiden in europe dont be paranoid this about heath and not american people

just come back from Paris yesterday and yes it can be expensive in the touristy areas. Got fined 70 Euros (my wife and I, so 35 Euros each) on the metro three days after buying a Navigo card just because we didn't have photo's on our cards. We didn't know we had to do that for just a weeks stay as we weren't told when we bought them and it didn't come with instructions, so be warned, they have inspectors hiding around corners of the metro ambushing ignorant tourists. And no, they do not have any sympathy or empathy in the slightest they just kept saying 'cash or card' repeatedly with no option of appeal. Ripping off the tourists I think.

When you said the service was fantastic and everyone was friendly that goes for every restaurant even a hole in the wall any place you go out to eat that's what you should expect and the food looks fantastic but it's not my cup of tea I'm plain Jane I prefer plain food it looks delicious and it's a beautiful place I'm glad you're enjoying it there again it's not my cup of tea

The Train bleu in Paris is a bit like visiting a monument and eating at the same time; you have to think of it as an attraction.
It's not the best food in Paris, but it's still good. It's not a tourist trap, it's expensive, it's an experience.
But it's not for everyone. If you're looking for something authentic, there's better in Paris, especially in Lyon

Whole Paris and France is over rated. When Mark is telling, the french are very friendly people it is a lie bigger than the Eifeltower. A discusting city is that Paris with their Super arrogant Parisienes. There are way better city, s in the world to explore than this. hole

Iconic meals; -) First place looks like more an old brasserie but it is a restaurant. I am happy you shoot videos about french cuisine, it is a well done teaser to visit France. or at least, making viewers curious for new kind of food and wines.

Not gonna lie. I like every Mark Wiens video but this French tour is my least favorite BY FAR. France has very expensive fancy food that lacks flavour and soul. It will never be for me. But this comment is for the algorithm, keep it up Mark.

When I come to Paris see my family who are true parisians they always take us to Bofinger! Incredible quality, historic venue and quite cheap prices for Paris, I love this restaurant so much brings back so many memories

I’ll go dine to a cafe and leave my hat as collateral to eat free just like Napoleon. In a couple centuries they’ll be displaying it as that asshole from 3 centuries ago who never came back, this is his hat.

Mark, I know you’re trying to advertise your brand but why not adhere to a restaurants dress code policy every once in a while and wear a sports coat or a collared shirt. None the less I enjoyed the video

Hi Mark, liking that french food tour. You should try Les Grands Buffets at Narbonne. I think this place is the peak of french gastronomy. I went there 10 years ago and still keep good memories of it

his name was CYRIL just pronounced in French. he was sooo professional, friendly without over stepping! would love to even briefly see Yin and Micah's reactions to the food or their food, Please!
reply

Mark, you're visited the iconic restaurant where Mr Bean filmed. Seafood Platter where Bean won't eat any oyster and pour it to a woman's bag and started to scream while he's escaping.
reply

I'd try French food but whomever the powers that be that claim that's the greatest cuisine in the world NO. French food doesn't touch American BBQ from the south.
reply

So happy to finally follow you through a proper series in France! I hope you will visit the south west once, Biarritz and Toulouse both have amazing food; )
reply

I wish Mark would stop talking with his mouth full. Otherwise, I love his videos. I suspect it's not gonna change, but I'm just putting it out there.

That restaurant looks like a museum, absolutely stunning. The food looks like it has stayed delicious with all the years it has been open.

I immediately knew when you took this huge amount of mustard that you were going to feel it. haven’t been to Paris for over 10 years. Thanks

Mark, slowly puts food in his mouth, belches out Uhmmmmmm, closes eyes and then blows his load in his pants. Then proceeds to repeat it again.
