Khrua Luang Then ( ) - During my trip to Southern Thailand, and specifically the southern Thai province of Phang Nga, one of the restaurants I was most looking forward to eating was Khrua Luang Then ( ) - it was a place I could feel I was going to love before going - just from the look of powerful spices in the dishes, and the laid-back environment. Turned out to be one of the best Thai food meals I ve had in a long time, one of my new favorite restaurants in all of Thailand. We arrived in the morning just as they opened, and already Chef was extremely friendly and welcoming. We ordered a bunch of dishes - and they have some unique southern Thai food dishes that you won t find elsewhere - so I was extremely excited. Sour curry sea catfish Beef dry curry Fried fish turmeric Black stingray curry Red ant omelet Octopus pineapple Sea shells Stir fried morning glory Total price - 1, 800 THB ( 55. 46) Before eating, I had a chance to watch Chef as he masterfully cooked all the dishes. His insane skills and use of huge amounts of spice blew my taste buds before even starting to eat. He makes all his own curry pastes, and sources all his ingredients locally. The food was absolutely insane, bold, spicy, tingly, and a sensation for the tongue. Mind blowing flavor, and strong to the max curries. I loved every bite, and the entire experience. Khrua Luang Then ( ) is located in Khao Lak (, Phang Nga province ( ) in southern Thailand. Khrua Luang Then ( ) is also featured in the Thailand Michelin Guide. Must eat if you are a spicy Thai food lover!

Ant omelet. Umm, not sure about that. I'm sure it tastes good though. I've had ant egg soup when I lived in Loas (was sick, so our cooks make me some, almost like chicken soup) and I've had fried crickets in Nongkai Thailand(actually only one. It was actually pretty decent, like a crunchy nut, but it was too cute to eat another one. Lol.

I love food with bold flavours, looks absolutely delicious. Mark have you ever tried a blackened sun dried stink bean/ petai? It's wonderful, it's got a concentrated stink bean flavour but it's also has developed a natural sweetness from the drying process, I usually find them drying still on the tree or close to it.

I've wondered, what you do with the food you don't finish eating? Does it go in the trash, or you pack it up and take it home with you? It just seems like there is so much food and I would hate for it to go to waste. But I do love watching your videos!

I liked it when you are showing us all those demos close up and cooking styles. Even though me personally wouldn't try some of the dishes but a lot of inspiration gained. Keeping us connected, thank you so much Mark xx

The thought of an ant omelette gives me shivers but watching Mark eat and enjoy it makes me second guess myself
Love the content! Almost feels as though you can taste the food with how descriptive he is.

Once there was a Fire Ant in my spaghetti that I accidentally ate, it disgusted me at first but had a nice spicy kick to it. I highly recommend fire ants, I ve been eating them since 2013
