Support our videos: Instagram: Snapchat: migrationology This is a Thailand vlog about living in Bangkok, and just a typical half of a day. In the morning my wife and I will often go to a local neighborhood market to shop for groceries. Even though on the day I made the vlog video my mother in-law and wife made food for some of our friends as well, this is not at all untypical of what my mother in-law cooks on a daily basis for us to eat at home. So we first went to the market, bought some vegetables, some herbs, and plenty of chilies. Then we continued on to buy some fresh fish and then went to the indoor market area to buy curry paste and also to buy coconut milk. Curry paste is very convenient to buy in Bangkok, and there are stalls are every market that have a variety of pre-pounded curry paste that you can buy to cook at home depending on what you want to cook and eat. It does taste good to make your own, but its very convenient to buy it from the market. We then also bought some freshly squeezed coconut milk, which is also easy and convenient to buy at any Thai market. After going home, I did some work for a couple hours, Im working on producing a video about the top things to do in Saigon, Vietnam (coming soon, and I also had some blogging and e-mailing to do. I didnt help with too much of the cooking, but I was called by my wife to do some taste testing At about 11 am, the time finally came for lunch. I first stir fried up a plate of sunflower sprouts, which I really enjoy doing, and then I sat down for a full southern Thai food lunch. The first dish I had was gaeng tai pla, a fish innards curry thats one of the most popular southern Thai foods. Then I ate some of the gaeng som malakaw, as southern Thai sour soup of fish and green papaya. Its one of my favorite foods living in Thailand, and though its from the south of Thailand, I eat it nearly everyday in Bangkok. Lastly I ate some of the khanom jeen nam ya, a thin coconut milk and fish curry from southern Thailand as well. Typically its served with khanom jeen rice noodles, but I really like it with rice. Khanom jeen nam ya recipe: One of the reasons I love living in Bangkok and in Thailand are the morning markets, and the delicious food you can make from all the ingredients available

I love watching you; ) Thank you for sharing in your new blog I'm a huge fan of your work and personality. I've been open to eating more outside my comfort because of your videos. I enjoy watching how much you've grown and shared your family: ) your wife and family are beautiful. Thank you also to the great people you bring, working hard outside their home to provide, give, sell with care and love because when you enjoy their meals from their fruit of hard labor of love, it shows. The tour guides, and great friends who sharing common good knowledge, laughs, character and good vibes together is amazing to watch

Mark Wiens - You are just wonderful & simply wow. believe me this is my first ever comment on social networking to someone I never met or known or aware of. Just randomly came across one of your food tour video when watching some other food specific videos in recent times, since then can't stop watching all the videos that you have posted when time permits. Keep up the wonderful work with your food tours. By listening to your voice/watching your videos will definitely feel joyous and sometimes even forget any sort of lowness or sadness. Beautiful Heart. BTW say hi to MIKA.

I'm not a fish person at all. something to do with fishing at way too young an age and seeing a fish being killed after being caught. give me a knife I'll jump in over the side of a field and carve a side of beef but seafood. I just can't do it. But. Im addicted to watching Mark videos of him eating things I couldn't bring a sober Odin to eat There's something about seafood, that the more I watch these videos, I want to try it again (Haven't eaten salmon, octopus etc for like 10 years, and usually by accident)

Something tells me the coconut milk I buy at my local grocery store doesn't come close to the quality of the stuff you can buy just down the street from your house. I really wish I could move there but, sadly, my kidneys insist on having the best treatments modern medicine can provide. At least I can live out my dreams vicariously through your videos. I honestly can't begin to tell you how much your videos mean to me.

Hi Mark i always want to ask 1 thing. after watching almost all your videos. 1 question is in my mind to ask you. how do you maintain your health. i mean i watch and eat only 2 times a day and 2 times liquid food. I put lot weight but you r slim. great. May be is due to your kind heart and bright mind.

Mark I know these are your signature expression to express the taste & your love for food but It's been 2 years I have been watching your videos & it's getting boring to watch same types of expression. Would you mind replacing it with a new one, your well wisher.
