Hi Mark, firstly - Tian2 is indeed over rated. If within Maxwell, a shop diagonally to Tian2, has better chicken lice; the cook/chef was from Tian2 and after a fallout, decide to open one on his own. His chicken lice tastes much better, IMO. 2nd, you could have ordered other parts of the chicken if you do not like the fatty parts, just mention it when ordering. There is the roasted chicken available as well, with crispy skin and all. 3rd, you SHOULD have had more than that punny helping of chilly When I'm there, or at any other chicken rice shop, the chilly bucket is MINE I'll help myself to at least 5 of those little bowls and add 2-3 bowls of their ginger/garlic sauce as well and not forgetting the dark soysauce. I even add chilly, ginger/garlic and soy sauce into the soup What a blast I'll haveThere is a curry puff shop in that very vicinity, along the Tian2 line, that has some very nice chicken/egg curry puffs as well; 2 bad no one told u.

Anthony Bourdain might have eaten at the same place but he doesn't hold a candle to Mark in comparison to a good all round food lovers guide and food show. Anthony likes to tell stories more than he concentrates on the food but Mark has the perfect balance of food description, culture of the place he's attending and I just can't stop watching your videos Mark and I've only been watching them less than a week. If these videos were put into television episodes Mark would be more popular then Anthony hands down. Keep the great stuff coming Mark.

Honest opinion Mark, Honest opinion. That is what we need. You don't have to show that obligatory head tilting. Before it was genuine, honest but now it just feels obligatory. Just like how michelle phan used to be really honest, casual and all she does is giving life advices like she is entitled to it and act snobbish. I think you know this people been commenting it recently on your videos. Still I enjoy your videos so much that I have watched all your videos. I like your contents just no longer that head bobbing.

Tian Tian Chicken Rice is honestly one of the worst chicken rice stalls I have ever tasted. Don't believe just make your way down and your taste buds will tell you the truth. I honestly think any chicken rice stalls can beat them. They operate like McDonald's style, very good system, food comes fast, but Tian Tian's taste is so bad. Been there, tried it, hate it. So far the best one I have tried is Ji De Lai Chicken Rice from Chong Pang Market. :DThese are all honest feedback.

Wow Mark i cant believe you re not giving tian tian high mark (no pun intended) its definitely among the best SG chicken rice. The chicken is so tender, flavorful, has amazing aroma even Mikey Chen loves it. Other Hainanese chicken may have more rubbery texture than tian tian. I know this because i have eaten tian tian and other hawker's chicken rice on every weekend for 4 years

Wow Mark i cant believe you re not giving tian tian high mark (no pun intended) its definitely among the best SG chicken rice. The chicken is so tender, flavorful, has amazing aroma even Mikey Chen loves it. Other Hainanese chicken may have more rubbery texture than tian tian. Maxwell food centre is a really old food centre, that used to have drains and smelly sewage everywhere inside, but there are still some of the really old stores there that have the best food in Maxwell. Would recommend the five spices store, its been there since like forever, which has been overshadowed by popular media on the chicken rice and fish soup.

Mark was just honest when he tasted the food and it's not that good. You really know Mark when he likes the food, his head will sway to the right and close his eyes smiling. I watched so many food blogger but Mark is unique Hope you can visit Vancouver too with Ying and Micah. All the best

Frequently there are comments about how much Mark has enjoyed a meal based on a perceived scale of reactions running from a nod, or Oh yeh, to head tilting and eyes closed. There is probably some validity to that scale, but it must also depend on his mood. He's not a robot.

Hey there Mark I was in Singapore the exact same time you were (visiting from California. I think we just missed each other at Banana Leaf Apolo, Tai Hwa AND Maxwell. Thank you for all the food videos in Bangkok. I went to most of the restaurants on my last trip there. :)
