my Seoul Travel Guide for Food Lovers On Day 6 in Seoul we first went to Noryangjin Fish Market to eat some Korean raw fish, and then we ate, what is now one of my favorite Korean foods, known as galchi jorim, or braised hairtail fish stew. Watch all my South Korea food videos here: 1: 16 Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market - If you love food, visiting Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market when youre in Seoul is a great idea. Its one of the biggest central fish markets in Seoul, and youll find just about every type of seafood you can imagine and more. After walking around for a while I bought a plate of hwareo hoe, which is sliced Korean style raw fish. Starting the day with some breakfast raw fish is a great idea. 6: 02 Braised Hairtail Fish (Galchi Jorim ) - I know Ive been to Namdaemun Market about 3 times in this Seoul travel and food guide series, but thats because theres so much good food in that area. When I was eating oxtail soup a few days before, I noticed the Namedaemun Hairtail Alley, and I knew it was a place I wanted to come back to. So today I persuaded my wife and her sisters to go. The Galchi Jorim, or braised hairtail fish stew turned out to be one of my new favorite Korean foods. It was spicy, not sweet, full of chili flavor, and the pieces of hairtail fish were delicious. 11: 48 Train from Yongsan Station in Seoul to Jeonju - After lunch and after doing a little more walking around, we took Yings sisters to the train station to go back to the airport, and Ying and I continued onto Yongsan station, and caught our train to Jeonju. The train ride took about 1. 5 hours and we arrived to begin our Korean food adventure in Jeonju. Welcome to Jeonju Many more videos to come

I personally don't enjoy eating fish with skin on, [I know everyone loves it, but I just can't stomach those parts of a fish]. so I usually stick to filleted fish. While that hairtail looks really nice, fact that it has skin on is a bit of a problem for me. Regardless I think my parents would enjoy it a lot. But watching you eat it so nicely haha, I love how you combined the soup broth with the fried fish and the steamed egg with the rice. I couldn't help but think IF I could eat those kinds of fish, I bet it'd be a damn good meal. I'm really enjoying looking at South Korea through your eyes Mark, thank you for sharing your journeys. Oh and your camera work is lovely, really enjoyed the train shots a lot.

I love your videos. they show the basic places in Korea, rather than just exotic places. which is good. I love to see the daily lives of people in a country and you just showed those in your videos. the only thing I can't do is eating raw animals and raw egg. bibimbap looks yummy, But I don't know if I will eat it just for the fact that it has raw egg. I know it is an acquired taste, But I haven't acquired it yet. also sashimi. i don't have the courage yet. keep posting videos. and also if you can get some routine office works of South Koreans that is great. Heard they work sun up to sun down.

hairtail is by far one of my favorite fish i was grocery shopping with my mom one day and she just told me to go buy this long silver fish, turned out it was the hairtail fish. my mom just seasons it with salt and pan fried it and it was just amazing. and im not a huge fan of fish (because i use to choke on the bones when i was younger) but hairtail is just too good

Hello Mark, I'm from Indonesia. Thanks for the video. I always watching your video and success makes me hungry lol. O yeah, I have a question why a lot of Korean dishes in red collors. Seasonings do they use? more dominant chili or something else. Because if you try any food you say little bit spicy but I thought the food was spicy. ThanksSorry my English bad.

1000won for a plate of mandu? how the hell do you get these bargain everywhere? lol as im watching your videos I'm just amazed how you find all these authentic food at such bargain price. Perhaps I should've stayed away from big restaurants and tried more mom&pop style corner restaurants. I was spending like at least 15bucks a meal while I was in Korea.

Hi, Mark. You are a great youtuber but your reactions to Most foods are exactly same? Sometimes make me question the truth. You don't have to like everything. I could tell you didn't like the Sea pineapple- they are disgusting to most people- but you still put on that same facial expressions. hmmm
