Today I am making crispy, golden fried chicken without the hour-long prep and raw chicken mess. In this video, I’m showing you the ultimate 'lazy cook' hack: turning a store-bought rotisserie chicken into the best fried chicken you’ve ever had. This recipe is perfect for my beginner cooks that want an easy fried chicken recipe. You can also season and dredge this for a southern fried chicken crust. By using a pre-cooked chicken and a simple, seasoned wet batter, you only need to fry it long enough to get that perfect golden crunch. It’s juicy on the inside, extra crunchy texture on the outside, and ready in a fraction of the time. 0: 00 Intro 0: 15 Prep The Chicken 2: 02 The Batter 3: 06 Coat And Cook The Chicken INGREDIENTS 3 lbs rotisserie chicken cooking oil for frying Dry Dredge 1/3 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp msg Wet Batter 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup cornstarch 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp msg start with 3/4 cups sparkling mineral water then add little by little until pancake batter consistency Don’t miss out on future affordable and tasty meal ideas! This is such a good idea! I like rotisserie chicken the first day, when it is hot. Less so on the second day when all the juices turn to jello after sitting in the refrigerator and the skin is flabby and cold. This solves that issue completely, and I think the tempura batter is a little lighter than a southern fry. I will definitely be trying this out! Thank you for sharing!

What's also great about this is the cost. Costco rotisserie chickens are much cheaper than raw whole chickens which are twice the price. Also Walmart chilled whole rotisserie chickens are cheap too because they're the hot chickens that didn't get sold the day before. So they're marked down.

I was thinking about doing this very thing the other day, but chickened out (pun intended) from the frying step because it had been a long, cruel day and I didn't feel like dealing with the possibility of another failure; -) Thanks for your courage!

Make sure you give your husband credit for this great hack! Had he not picked up rotisserie chicken instead of raw chicken, you wouldn't have discovered this. Some of lifes best ideas came from mistakes. Thanks, hubby!

I am absolutely doing this! I've thought about doing it in the past, but wondered if it would dry out and overcook the chicken. Now that you've tested it with success I'm going to give it a go. Thanks!

That's so funny about your husband's pics after you asked him to bring chicken. I have learned to be very specific with my husband or else this would happen lol! Love your video's. Merry Christmas!

Tempura rules! I'm gonna try this and switch in beer for sparkling mineral water. Maybe even a splash of vodka or dare I say tequila. No. I'll save that idea for some thin sliced white fish fillets.

Just genius! So for southern fried chicken would you just do an egg and flour batter Not real good at making chicken this may change that as part of my problem it lack of patience and heat!

The rotisserie chicken at Walmart that doesn't sell the same day, they put it in the fridge and sell it cold for like 2 or 3 dollars. That would be more affordable too.

Honestly with food safety the way it is in the grocery store, you are probably just making sure you don't get food poisoning. It's a win win.
