Mr. Mark W.
Hopefully, you and your crew will visit the Queen City AKA Charlotte, NC.
You and your crew choose?
If you do consider these hidden gemstones.
Pinkys.
Express Tapie / Providence Road
Angie's Dinner
Original chicken and ribs
Nickies Food Shop
Sals Pizza
Red Sea Charlotte
Samosa Arfican Cuisine
Mccormick and schmick's
Tabla Indian Restaurant

All hidden gems. the best of the best.
The people who volunteer to serve the homeless shelters with their own grind of homemade dishes are also hidden gems.

It's interesting that you've tasted the meme of Taiwanese cuisine prevalent in younger generations - the yellow curry you've tasted. It actually falls into the category, which means luminescent curry, that's characterized by the extensive use of turmeric and generally starchy gooey texture; however, it was a cost-saving measure done by catering services, especially to school lunches, so I do respect the premise of its existence. Despite its infamous status in Taiwan, I've always liked those growing up in Tainan lmao. The one you had in this video certainly felt like a gourmet version of it

About the last place Mark visit, if there are 2 of you one needs to go and find seats behind the store first, each store has its own tables they are easy to find because you can find the store's name on the table, another one needs to go and line up behind the store because there will be a long line at busy hour.
That area is one of the oldest area in Taipei.

Wait. the name of the chicken roll does not come from how the food looks like a chicken neck. That's not correct lol. It is called that because in Taiwanese, the pronunciation of chicken sounds like extra. The meaning is extended to refer to leftovers. This dish used to be made of the leftover materials (pork, cabbage, etc) that people could find in their fridges.

I sprinkle Mark s Smoked Ghost Pepper Powder on just about everything. I learned to use it sparingly though. You can always add more. It s amazing in scrambled eggs! If you like your food spicy, you have to give it a try. I m watching this video, thinking this dish and that dish would be amazing with MW s SGPP, haha.

kindly stop saying breakfast of champions when you are just eating street foods from sidewalk eateries, cause reality is the farmer, fishers, hunters are the champions when it comes to breakfast who sometimes only drink coffee then go to their daily jobs not even having a single meat for breakfast

Thank you so much Mark for this amazing video! I am so hungry and really want taiwanese food after watching it. I have been to Taiwan only once, and I really loved the food there. I think that food wise, is one of my favorite places on earth.

Why do you put chilli sauce in everything? I know you like chilli, but that baked bread is meant to be eaten just like that. Chilli changes the taste of the bread meal. The chilli could go with the meat bun or meat bao, but not with the bread.

Great TW street food memories of when I was a lad and my uncle was stationed in Ming Dai Lu near Taipei! That TW street food buffet was what we had also once a week back then. The Lu Bing- what I called meat pockets. Thanks for the memories!

Always thought Taiwanese food was cheap on ingredients and rely on deep frying and basic peppers for flavor. Also the black seed oils and soy is terrible for you. I struggle to think of another Asian country they have better food than.

As a Taiwanese, I really appreciate this series Mark has done! The choices of restaurants and footstalls are superb and exactly where the locals would go! And the editing is at the next level and has really evolved! Great job crew!

Hi Mark, thanks for returning to your roots. Been watching your videos all the way from when you had long hair and toured around Africa. One of the things I sometimes missed was you sampling popular no frills street food

Omg the first soy milk place, I went there during my trip in February but unfortunately it was already closed since I forgot to check their business hours, tks Mark for filming there, now I feel like I ate there!

Holy smokes did Mark hit the jackpot for this episode! Those pastries and the hot savory soymilk right off the bat. Those danzai noodles! So mouthwatering. Time to pack my bags and go.

The pork leg soup is the dish I eat every time at that temple place. If I share the soup with friend, it s not enough satisfaction, but if I eat a bowl by myself it s too full for me
