Welcome again to the island food paradise of Taiwan, and today we re going on a Taiwanese street food tour but focusing on some of the intense wok fired dishes of Taiwan including the King of Fried Rice! 1. Market Stir Fry: - First to begin this Taiwanese food tour we stopped off at a market across the street from Taiwan University. At lunch the market transforms into a massive food court with all things Taiwanese food you can imagine. But we headed to the back of the market to go to a famous stir fry stall where they make everything fresh to order. A few of their specialties are fried noodles and egg and beef in a sauce over rice. Food was delicious! Total price - 320 TWD ( 10. 57) 2. Oyster omelet ( ): - Next up, another Taiwan street food classic - the oyster omelet. They fry it on a huge iron griddle feeding it lard as they go. One of the unique things about a Taiwanese oyster omelet is that they serve it with a big puddle of miso tomato sauce in the center. Additionally some of the highlights here are the plump poached oysters and the simple ginger soup. Total price - 520 TWD ( 17. 18) 3. Fried Rice Restaurant ( ): - But really, the absolute highlight was going to Taiwan s king of fried rice. As soon as I arrived they started making a batch of 45 plates at a time on one griddle. We got to see the full process as they added in 45 eggs, a bag of shrimp, cabbage, sauce, and kilos of rice. It was an amusement park of fried rice - a mountain of fried rice. And the owners are extremely friendly! Total price - 180 TWD ( 5. 95) This turned out to be an amazing Taiwan street food tour in Taipei. I loved the friendly owners and the delicious taste of the breath of the wok!

Lucky you go to Taiwan before China completely invades and destroys all the real true ancient Chinese history that the communist party destroyed back in mainland. The Democratic Party was able to smuggle out and save some of the real Chinese culture and history. Not like the fake sheep Chinese culture propaganda promoted today all over the news and social media. Taiwan is true Chinese culture.

I miss Taiwan so much, the food there is unbeatable and because it has proper food sanitation and health laws I am much less likely to get diarrhoea or food poisoning as opposed to when I am visiting China, also because everyone speaks Mandarin there is no Language barrier for me.

a word of unsolicited advice: do not put your face and speak right in front of the food that was being cooked. it s unhygienic. while they were wearing their face mask to observe food hygiene preparation and cooking, you were speaking right in front of the food being cooked

Hi Mark: I've been watching your videos for a few years and love them all. I really like the slightly different format your using on this one - the choice of music and graphics is great! And the street food if Taiwan looks wonderful - that oyster omlette and friend rice - wow!

Mark - great to see you enjoying Taiwan! I loved living (and eating) there as an exchange student.
By the way - travel to mainland China is possible again, after three years of closed borders. You should head over there again. So much great food!

You can see the color and ingredients that makes fried rice tastes so delicious, the chef takes what he s been taught, and cooks awoken of art. The oysters omelette, haves a lot of flavor and the sauce helps you get the tastes you re looking for.

Asian countries have the highest IQs in the world and it shows in the creativity of the food culture. I ve been traveling in Latin America and the food here sucks, coincidently the lowest IQ countries are here also.

Imagine being an american. you've eaten processed foods and basic cooking. Then you move overseas. the fresh food looks so damn good. i wish i could move. i wouldn't know what to do with all that good food!

You won't get a good fried- rice with this method when some rice don't even touch the pan's surface. But if it's was his intention to make a cheaper food for his customer then it's acceptable.

Mark I'm trying to find the videos when you were in India eating the Chaplin kebabs with bone marrow, do you still speak to Joel you guys need a reunion trip to India to do those kebabs again!

that fried rice is so sad. no wok hei, that's the problem of chef being lazy doing large portion and the rice still wet and clumps together. that rice is only fit for canteen

I love Taiwanese street foods and their sweets like grass jelly with taro. Must not forget fresh squeezed tropical fruit juice and small pineapple cake for souvenir.
